Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Oct 04, 2009 2:26 pm Hi We are just coming up to our pre start and we have to decide if we want a Blanco bose902x 90cm oven or not. Has any one ever owned or used one of these ovens as the only review I can find is saying its not to good. Thanks My building thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25279 NEARLY DONE. KEYS ON 5/11 AT 1PM Re: blanco oven 2Oct 04, 2009 4:46 pm I don't have one, but I read something here recently about the 900mm ovens, that stated that they're actually no wider inside than a standard 600mm job. The freestanding 900mm stoves are a different thing - we have a Blanco one and it's very roomy. Re: blanco oven 3Oct 05, 2009 5:59 pm I have the Blanco 750 underbench oven, I think the 900 is the same size inside as mine, the extra is because the controls are on the side, instead of the top. I actually like it, I don't do a lot of oven baking but what I have done, ie roasts, cakes etc they are a huge improvement from my last oven, and I thought it was because I was a lousy cook, but it turns out I can cook, have had some nice compliments lately Re: blanco oven 4Oct 05, 2009 6:41 pm SuH I have the Blanco 750 underbench oven, I think the 900 is the same size inside as mine, the extra is because the controls are on the side, instead of the top. I don't know anything about the 900.... and I like that mine is easy to operate as well, the instructions are very straight forward oh, apart from not knowing what those griller tray handles were for they were a mystery for a while. Re: blanco oven 6Oct 05, 2009 7:47 pm The house we are going to build comes with a 900 blanco oven or we could have upgraded to another blanco or westinghouse My building thread viewtopic.php?f=1&t=25279 NEARLY DONE. KEYS ON 5/11 AT 1PM Re: blanco oven 8Oct 05, 2009 8:07 pm SuH Well you wouldn't think there would be a difference in the quality just because of size, it does me, I won't be cooking for 20 people anytime soon I wish - we regularly have 15-20 people here for a roast (we have 13 here this Thursday night!). Before we put in a 1 1/2 oven (which is absolutely brilliant btw)we sometimes needed to use the neighbors oven too! Hope the 900 Blanco is big enough as that is what we are upgrading too. Cheers Kim Re: blanco oven 9Oct 05, 2009 8:15 pm OMG SuH Well you wouldn't think there would be a difference in the quality just because of size, it does me, I won't be cooking for 20 people anytime soon I wish - we regularly have 15-20 people here for a roast (we have 13 here this Thursday night!). Cheers Kim Ummmm I don't reckon it will be Kim, to be honest. Can you fit two in As was pointed out in another thread the 90cm has exactly the same space inside as the 75cm and there is no way I could cook a roast dinner for 15-20 people in that space. Okay just had a look, there are 2 shelves only, I have a medium sized baking tray that I use mostly, which, if you had 4 of those you could fit two on each rack. 15-20 tell us what you cook for that many...just curious Re: blanco oven 10Oct 05, 2009 8:28 pm Thanks - we will have to have a good look at the display when we go back for the tender letter I think, maybe even take a couple of trays in to make sure! Otherwise we will delete that oven & put another 1 1/2 ovens in! Just had a quick search - we are having the freestanding cooker so it seems that is a bit different/bigger. Will still chack tho.
We usually end up with at least a large leg of lamb, a roast chook & sometimes a pork roast too. Meat is put on way earlier than vegies, then left to stand for around 1/2hr while vegies finish cooking. My partner actually does all the cooking (I get to make the gravy ) & we have no less than 3 trays of vegies. Best bit is there are always leftovers so I make bubble & squeak the next night YUM! You will definitely need another oven Re: blanco oven 13Oct 06, 2009 7:49 am OMG SuH You will definitely need another oven Dont say that - then we will have to rearrange the kitchen layout - again Better to know beforehand tho................ Check it out OMG, I can't see 5 or 6 trays fitting in that oven, thorry Re: blanco oven 14Oct 10, 2009 11:36 pm We are off to Hardly Norman tomorrow to look at the ovens. For the roast Thurs night we used 5 trays - no problems with the set up we have but now we are not so sure about the cooker! Thanks for the warning! Re: blanco oven 15Sep 30, 2010 2:23 pm Anyone have any updates on these ovens,Blanco 900 comes as standard in the house we are looking at. I'm abit worried, love a good big oven. Seems the free standing is bigger/better,wondering if we should up-grade depending on $$$$$$ cheers Block bought 1st RBC X! 2nd Ventrua,Keeper!
