We are thinking of putting our fridge in the butler's pantry we are having. Has anyone done this? Are you glad you did or is it a pain to have to go in there all the time?
Thanks.

We have a small kitchen & the fridge/freezer does not fit in there so is in the next room (although no door to open). It is a pain to walk all the way around when you realised you have left something in there. Because it is that bit further to walk we tend to carry several items and then you have to juggle being able to open the door and not drop the food (we do have the extra obstacle of toys on the floor!) Re: Fridge in Butler's Pantry?? 3Sep 23, 2009 10:00 am My parents place has the fridge in the pantry, but the pantry has a sliding door which is usually open, and the fridge is right at the pantry opening with the fridge door opening the direction that makes it easy. It looks great, and works really well as its no harder to get to than it would be if it were in the kitchen itself. I would definitely do the same if were going to work in this way, but the doors and shape of my pantry don't allow me to work it this way. I am going to have a stand alone fridge in my kitchen, and large verticle freezer in the pantry. Re: Fridge in Butler's Pantry?? 4Sep 23, 2009 10:51 am We are having the same as theviews parents - the fridge is going along the back wall of the kitchen, but is placed just inside the walk in pantry - can't see it being too much of an issue as with the slider door to the WIP open it will be right there. We struggled to decided where to put the fridge, as we wanted a really flush streamlined look across the back wall, so the fridge just didn't seem as though it would look right, and due to our design we only have the back wall and front island to our kitchen so ended up having to be part of the WIP - so hopefully it will work well...! We would have loved to have a full scullery with sink and dishwasher etc, but just didn't have room as the plan was without extending even further and adding yet more $$$ - so for this house we will have to settle for a large WIP. Re: Fridge in Butler's Pantry?? 5Sep 23, 2009 11:02 am Thanks everyone. Moogles - your kitchen sounds exactly like what we are planning. And your reasons are the same for wanting the fridge in the pantry!! I think I'll need to wait for the exact dimensions for our kitchen before I can decide! Basically.
