Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Sep 21, 2009 4:53 pm Has everyone chosen the size of their rangehood by the size of the cooktop? Or have you chosen yours by what looks best? We are purchasing all SMEG appliances for our new kitchen. I have ordered the 70cm oven and 70cm induction cooktop. I also went with the 70cm wall mounted rangehood. I am not concerned about the size of it for its ability to catch all the fumes/steam etc, more so would it look too small. The model we have chosen also comes in a 90cm version. The wall it is going on will basically only have the rangehood above a window splashback. We are trying to avoid having any overhead cabinets on this wall. That wall will be about 4.5 - 5m. Do you think a bigger rangehood would look best? Re: Rangehood Size 2Sep 21, 2009 5:12 pm I'd be interested in people's opinions on this, too. I've gone the 60cm underbench oven and 60cm cooktop, then was going to get the 60cm rangehood but if bigger looks better, maybe I should go slightly bigger than 60cm if that doesn't look funny with smaller oven/cooktop... Re: Rangehood Size 4Sep 21, 2009 5:50 pm If it's a glass canopy I think...not sure...the glass bit adds a little extra length, so if it's a 900, plus the glass, jt could make it a bit more ????? but I think a 700 over a 700 cooktop would not look too small. I have a 600 (it is hidden so you can't actually see it) rangehood over a 700 cooktop with a 750 oven looks fine Re: Rangehood Size 5Dec 01, 2009 6:53 pm I think the 70 range over the 70 cooktop will look fine, but since you are not having overhead cupboards why not go the larger rangehood. It will look great and capture more cooking fumes. If i could change one thing in my kitchen its the sucking power of the range. Dear Members I have to decide the Facade column size. My custom builder standard is 350mm with rendering, but i asked for 470mm plus stone or tiles and yet to get… 0 7497 All sorted guys. Just needed to buy a blade with the correct bush.
