There's even self-cleaning glass for windows - seen it touched it and the verdict? Not so clean. The only thing I have that is self cleaning is my cat Ed If I write "I" please read "We"! Be good. Re: Pyrolitic ovens 3Jun 13, 2007 9:10 pm Choice just looked at these specifically recently and said something about them not being totally self-cleaning as you have to remove some things to clean them (probably the rails if memory serves) and you have to pay for it. It was a very recent article so I suggest you read it as I can't remember the details and don't want to say something incorrect. It was at my local library.
I would also look into how much extra energy/cost it uses to run this function as I'm sure the process must take some time and energy. I was looking at these self cleaners such as the Miele brand and I had to give up a lot of cooking functions for the same price to get that option. I prefer the cooking functions. I'm going to buy a Neff oven which only uses hydro-clean as I get a lot more bang for my buck. It's ok as long as you don't turn it on. Cat meet Oven, Oven meet Cat 3xb Re: Pyrolitic ovens 8Jun 15, 2007 1:31 pm renomart Ahh, now I know what a CATalytic self cleaning oven means....
