Many thanks Jarrod Surprisingly it was the electrician who did ours. We're building a new house and we were stressing about who was going to install the external ducting. The day the sparkies came to put in all the wiring for the house, they ran the ducting to the vent in the brick work. Re: Rangehood- Which Trade? 4Sep 16, 2009 6:25 am Just a bit of my personal experience when it comes to installing range hoods - no one seems to actually want to FIT the things... An electrician is needed to fit the GPO for the hood and a plumber is the best person to do the ducting and both of these trades claim to be able to fit the range hood as well. BUT as this unit is fitted to cabinetry it could just as well (some argue SHOULD) be done by the cabinetmaker/ installer. The point of this rant is that if nothing else it is quite important to make sure whoever is involved with the project has a clear understanding of the job they are expected to perform and has agreed to it. I know this might sound a bit pedantic but getting rangehoods fitted and ducted can cause inconvenient problems on site if trades start passing the buck. Not sure if it will be as long lasting as a steel finish? 6 6353 brokers will also be in a position to get you a better rate than the advertised rate most times. 6 7579 Thank you. Do I use timber floorboards for stairs or do people use timber treads? Or is both the same? 6 7297 |
