Not top of the range, but its quiet. My parents also bought one and have had no troubles.
Our last house had a Westinghouse Freestyle (2000 model) - in 3 years we had to replace both dishracks (they started rusting) and the powder/tablet compartment broke too. ![]() Re: Dishwasher Recommendations? 65Dec 07, 2007 11:02 pm Took the plunge and got Chelsea a BOSCH SGS46M78AU today. (It's her Christmas present)
Hopefully its a good one!! I went to Kleenmaid... ouch almost $3000 for a dishwasher. Way out of my league. I told the lady that I wanted to look at the best so I had a baseline to compare against when looking. She was really helpful and spent some time going thru the features etc. It was actually hooked up too!! Could have done a "chasers" To be honest wasn't worth the money from my pov. She was still helpful, but even after my honesty, she sugested I put it on terms!! Im just as happy with the one I got, at half the price. Any feedback on a Technika dishwasher 66Nov 25, 2009 12:37 pm Hi guys, My builders threw in a Technika stainles steel dishwasher as a freebie when we negotiated on price ![]() But then I did some research.... Product review.com.au is full of negative reviews of the dishwasher with almost everyone saying they would have preferred to do without it! ![]() ![]() Luckily we are still at tender stage so it's not too late... Does anyone have feedback on it? Cuz I am really starting to get angry with Carlisle for dumping this on us ![]() G Re: Dishwasher Recommendations? 67Nov 25, 2009 2:03 pm We didn't use it ! Personally I think there are better dishwashers out there...change it whilst you can! Re: Dishwasher Recommendations? 68Nov 29, 2009 3:10 pm We have bought a Fisher & Paykel dishdrawer for our new kitchen... My parents have one and they love it so we decided to get the same. There's only two of us in the house so it makes sense to be able to wash smaller loads at a time. Doesn't take dishwasher tablets. Doesn't clean dishes properly. I'm getting rid of it ASAP. I think I'll just give it away. Judie Re: Dishwasher Recommendations? 70Nov 30, 2009 7:43 pm Whilst we have no actual experience with the technika dishwasher, as its not an inclusion in our builders current promo. Our builder did offer to include it including installation for $1400 odd. Between gasping for air, I politely declined as thats the sort of money we're looking at spending on an Asko, which has numerous positive reviews from around the place. Also after discussing it with a product specialist over at TGG, who is a friend of a friend. His recommendation was Bosch or Asko, only personal preference to split them, though allegedly Asko is expected to release a new range around Q2 2010 as the current range is around 2 yrs old apparently. So we should see similar innovations to the Bosch current range, as well as the possibility of price drops to shift stock of the currents once the new range is confirmed. Not great help if your looking to buy now, however as we're going to be looking around sep next year once the house is built, we're content to wait and see what comes but either way it'll be Asko or Bosch. A little noisy but I don't mind, quietest dishwasher I have ever heard was mums old dishlex. I think with all washers a good plate scrape is all that should be required, if they can't clean whats left they aren't worth the bother. Re: Dishwasher Recommendations? 73Dec 06, 2009 10:59 am We have a Technika Belissimo in our rental house at the moment and it is utter junk!!! It was new and unused when we moved in. It is very noisy - we can't hear the TV, radio or talk on the phone if it is on. The top rack is rusting, the handle on the cutlery basket has always fallen off when you lift it out of the machine. The machine always needs cleaning too - it seems to create it's own mess as we rinse dishes. It was taken away for 4 weeks when we first moved in as it was wired incorrectly and set off our safety switch each time we used it It does not dry the dishes and rarely cleans them too. Currently the machine isn't working properly as the wash cycle dial gets stuck mid wash - we have told our Estate agent and I have called Technika 3 times to get someone to repair it. I have given up on it now. Thankfully our house will be finished in Jan so it won't be our problem anymore. To me it seems that every aspect of Technika is poor - product and customer service!!! I am keen to see what other people have recommended though. <<apologies for the moany post there!! I am 8 mo preg and over it!!>> ![]() ![]() ![]() Re: Dishwasher Recommendations? 74Dec 06, 2009 4:38 pm ![]() <<apologies for the moany post there!! We barely use the bottom draw as the ease of use and the size means you just do a load the moment the top draw is full. It cost more but i think it was worth every cent. Just on dishwasher detergents those tablets they sell are the biggest rip off i have seen, they cost like 30 cents each and require a long wash to use them fully so around 2 hours. I tried them and tried powder and I cant tell the difference. Apparently the Aldi ones are the best & half the price. ![]() Re: Dishwasher Recommendations? 77Dec 10, 2009 9:42 am Thought I would probably get a Miele to replace the very old Miele in our house. So I asked someone at work whose wife worked for Miele (actually she has just left ). He said that they put in a new Miele DW but he much preferred the Asko that it replaced - reckoned it was better & quieter. So we have just purchased the Asko. You should be able to get a low end version of it for around $250 from AliExpress. 2 5755 4 2616 ![]() 6 5181 ![]() |
