Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Sep 07, 2009 8:17 am My builder is asking me to give him an idea where the kitchen appliances are to be placed & I'm going around in circles The frame for the wall where these appliances will be placed is being erected today (thank god, then I might have more of an idea) The island bar (3200) will be appliance free, so the back wall will have to accomodate the double sink, dishwasher & oven (stand alone). (Fridge is on another wall) The back wall we've allowed will be 3200. The splashback window is 1600 - the problem is, there is a bulkhead so the splashback will have to go on the left of the bulkhead so it won't be the middle of the whole length of the wall so I guess this window will look a bit off centre. Bottom line is, would you centre the double sink in front of the splashback with the dishwasher on one side? Or put the oven centre of the splashback & try to work out where to put the sink. Not sure if this makes sense - don't know what I'm doing at this point & my builder is being a bit of a peanut & not that helpful (brother-in-law ). Maybe I will get more of an idea when the frame is up today Thoughts would be appreciated (maybe this all sounds double dutch - SORRY) Jazzie Life is like a lolly, suck it and see Re: Kitchen appliances - is there a special order? 2Sep 07, 2009 10:11 am I was looking at a website about this yesterday: http://www.dynamicspace.com/dynamicspac ... index.html It explains the 5 separate 'zones' of a kitchen. Cleaning (sink, dishwasher, rubbish bin) Cooking (oven, cooktop) Preparation (bench between cooking and cleaning) and Consumables and nonn consumables (fridge/pantry etc) It has tips like, the dishwasher should go next to the sink as you rinse your dishes and stack straight into the dishwasher. Bench preparation area needs to be in between cooking and cleaning so you can clean up as you get dinner ready and so on. Can you post a pic of your kitchen plan?? I am new to this forum so please bear with me. An NCAT order was breach by our neighbour regarding a retaining wall dispute. He is the owner of a building company and he… 0 2206 No. It's not original. Circa early to mid 90s would be my guess and maybe even as late as early 2000s 1 6626 2 4669 |
