Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Aug 20, 2009 5:38 pm So our 5 year old Maytag dishwasher started leaking water all over the floor today. Why couldn't it live for 12 more months and it be someone else's problem So rather than spending at least $200 to get it fixed...thinking of buying a new one that will hold us over till our new place is finished, we sell here etc. Any recommendations on a dishwasher that is fairly cheap but not too nasty? It's a post war house..all the other appliances are white, incl. the cupboards so happy to stay with white. Re: Dishwasher to hold us over 3Aug 20, 2009 5:42 pm Have you made sure it is the dishwasher that is leaking or have you rang someone to look at it, and got the $200 quote ? The reason I ask is that I have seen a few dishwashers "leaking" water, when in fact it has been the cheap plastic water pipe that has worn and split. This is easy to fix. Costs money to have anyone look at it..so just thinking probably works out not much more just to get a new one ..
