Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Apr 28, 2009 8:31 am Does everyone have the same brand rangehood as they do stove? We are getting a Westinghouse free standing oven/stove and we are wanting a canopy rangehood. Do we just pick a Westinghouse or are there perhaps "better" rangehoods that we should look at? Would appreciate everyones thoughts on choosing a rangehood. Thanks. Re: Rangehood question 3Apr 28, 2009 12:21 pm Same as Sue, we are having different (but making sure both S/S). But we are going to buy a Rangehood without a brand name on it, quite a lot of brands don't have their name plastered over it. ICK So glad the building is over, never again. Loooove our house, but still not quite sure it was worth all of the stress they put us through! Re: Rangehood question 4Apr 29, 2009 12:03 am Theres no set rule, just make sure its going to do the job well and of course has a warranty:) Kitchens are like finger prints, no two are ever the same!! If it was just a pull out rengehood, I would say it doesn't make any difference at all, but being a canopy, I would personally prefer it matched....but that may just be me being OCD!!!! There are plenty of good rangehoods out there so you don't have to restrict yourself to just one brand. As the rangehood is not right next to another appliance a difference in manufacturer will not stand out. Bear in mind that the stainless steel finish does differ from manufacturer to manufacturer, so try to see your appliances side by side to know if they will look very different and if this is an issue for you. Re: Rangehood question 7Apr 29, 2009 8:55 am We have ordered a Smeg in both a freestanding oven and the rangehood, but when we were investigating a couple of people said they would have the Smeg stove but would go for a Fisher & Paykel rangehood as they are very efficient and quite, even though we heard this we still went with the Smeg RH as we really liked it's look and because we are having it vented outside it's efficiency should be fine. Re: Rangehood question 8Apr 29, 2009 9:52 am Schweigen range hood - quiet and powerful 60cm Neff oven - largest internal capacity and good ergonomics Highland gas cooktop - highest output domestic burner You can really use anything you want the main consideration would be how it looks once painted/finished - or the look you want. Cabinetmakers use MDF because its cheap… 2 9962 I would say both styles you have pictured are steel.
