Ok I have decided to go for a Bosch. (was going for LG but surfed the net and found too many negative reviews).
Bosch has just released a complete new range.
I am tossing up between 3 models.
1. Basic model Smu50E15 for $985 (which has lots of good features anyway).
2. Next model up Smu50E25 $1230 for this you get extra features of: Time Delay, Time Remaining Indicator, 2 decibells quieter, top basket triple hight, and a program to half the wash time of any setting. ( dont know how good this will be though).
3. Next model up again Smu68M05 for $1400 with more extra features of: extra wash programs, better flexible baskets, 2 decibells quieter again, half star better in energy costs, child lock, and for the feature that would sway me to go for this model......... A third row draw for cutlery like in the Miele.
I must admit this cutlery draw is swaying me (as I always end up stabbing myself with the cutlery in the baskets ). But then again I may find it a pain in the butt
What do you guys reckon. Do many of you that have dishwashers, find the time delay handy to have or should I even save some bucks and go back to the cheapest version?? I dont know if I will have it on at night during cheaper electric rates as the water noise going into the machine may wake me up. (I'm such a light sleeper ).
One more question........
I was going to get a free standing model which I just push into the space and connect up, but this will stick out past my cupboards by about 3 cms.
The cabinet maker suggested I go for the built under models as they will line up perfectly with my cupboards and I raise the height so it matches the height of the cupboards also. I am just wondering what the gaps will look like around the dishwashers kickboard if I do this.
Also some people have bought the free standing one and took the top off to sit it back further another thing to think about, but I dont think free standing models go high enough without the top to enable to screw it into the bench and I dont think these come with the metal strip to screw onto the underside of the benchtop to protect it.
So I'm after advice from people who have installed dishwashers to try and decide which way to go.
