Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances 1 Feb 24, 2009 9:12 pm I must hear from anyone else who has ordered a double oven in the one tower (ie. Two full 600cm wide ovens) which are usually placed on top of each other or next to each other - looks sensational, Big M does it heaps in their homes and I love em!
What I was wondering, what configuration did you go for and how did you incorporate your microwave oven as well? Annie A thankful person is a happy person. It looks good but she only ever uses both at the same time once every three years when its her turn for christmas day
Are you getting the two ovens with one set of controls or two separate systems with separate controls ?. I hope I use it more than your mum! I thought it would be good to have a "warming" oven and a cooking one too, I don't like using microwaves if I can avoid it! A thankful person is a happy person. Mum's top one comes out flat faced and raised up - which is nice and safe and easy to get into as its higher than waist height. Actually it wouldn't be possible to have a normal opening top oven as ones arms wouldn't be long enough .
The bottom one is normal opening but opens flat like a shelf and she got the hinge connected so she could place items on the open door (handy for basting, turning food etc). I'll give you that it's handy to have the different setups. She has the top one setup for baking (3 shelves) and the bottom for roasts and casseroles (one main shelf). Does 2 controls mean two clocks ?. that'd be a pain. Mum's is constantly saying "HELP" due to power cuts. I don't know if this will work for you, but what we are planning is having two towers on either side of the kitchen - on with a double oven, and one with the microwave and built in coffee machine. I would absolutely LOVE a double 900mm wall oven but they are extremely rare and the ones you can get are hideously expensive, so a double 600mm wall oven will have to do After 2 false starts, a year living overseas, two more world trips and 3 years of uncertainty we are now starting the build process again - hopefully for real this time! Re: Double oven in one tower... 6Feb 26, 2009 1:34 pm We're having a tower with a wall oven and a built-in microwave / convection ("combi") oven on the top.
That way, we get the convenience of two ovens, plus the microwave, but only having 2 appliances and not 3. And by getting a stainless steel finish built-in microwave, it won't look out of place (hopefully!). We have a microwave combi in our old house, and I couldn't live without it. It's great to be able to cook an apple pie in one while the roast is in the other at the same time. Re: Double oven in one tower... 7Feb 27, 2009 9:05 am Hi
I've gone for a one and a half oven. I bake a lot and like on a farm so I think I need the extra one but as PP has suggested - it may only be used on Christmas Day once every few years - who knows but I really didn't think I need 2 full ovens. Sorry but I can't remember what the guy at shop said about my choice but I don't think there was much difference in the power, just the actual size of the oven being smaller (and it was cheaper than a double oven). I went for a F & P one - I figure I shouldn't be too disappointed. HTH Re: Double oven in one tower... 8Feb 27, 2009 9:04 pm We have gone for a tower with a 700mm Wall Oven & a steam-oven on top.

We've gone for the oven tower, but with 1 1/2 600 wide ovens. We measured our biggest oven trays and they fitted, so that's what we went for! It will look similar to this with the microwave on top, and a small pot drawer underneath. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We could have gone the 900 wide free standing oven and stove top, but thought this would be just as good. We will most likely use the smaller oven a lot of the time, for potato wedges, pizza or lasagna, and both of them when doing roasts. It seemed more sensible to have a 'half' oven as we don't tend to use it that often anyway! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!!
