Browse Forums Kitchen Appliances Re: Dish washer not getting water. Defect aquastop? 3Oct 10, 2024 5:10 pm leheim I get an error message on my dishwasher (whirlpool ADG 7580) indicating that the water inlet is closed. I think there is a problem with my aquastop. I removed the cover to look at it, and this is how I think it works: If there is a leakage in the inner hose, the outer hose and the aquastop house fill up. The sponge expands, pushing the spring-loaded mechanism back which releases the magnet. The magnet is normally trapped in a repelling orientation and flips around when released. I did a simple test where I tried to pour water into the hose (from the top / the blue ring) with the magnet in both directions but the water did not pass the valve (the filter was removed). Therefore I suspect that it is broken, but I don't understand how. Am I missing something here? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It sounds like you’ve done some thorough troubleshooting! If the water isn’t passing through the valve even with the filter removed, it’s likely that the aquastop is faulty. Another possibility could be a blockage in the hose or a faulty valve mechanism. If you can, check for any debris or kinks in the hoses leading to the aquastop. If everything looks clear, replacing the aquastop might be necessary.
