Good thing that your house didn't catch fire. That is one of the main reasons why we want to vent the exhaust out of the house. Re: Rangehoods (ducted to exterior) 42Feb 08, 2009 8:34 pm Reaver - someone mentioned it in this thread and I just said it to my CSC I didn't have a link or anything, but then again they didn't ask for proof so they must know My karma ran over your dogma Re: Rangehoods (ducted to exterior) 43Feb 08, 2009 8:41 pm We didn't even have to ask for it (although we did ask about it during the building process, to make sure!) it was just vented to the exterior on our place (2 storey PD house) DH wedt outside the first time I uswed it, too - just to make sure it was working properly, and wasn't actually venting to the inside. Works beautifully! Solidarity, not solidity.......The Lexicon of Life Re: Rangehoods (ducted to exterior) 45Feb 08, 2009 11:40 pm haywgl I wanted to ask Petal - what does it look like, I want to make sure I have it when they are at that stage! It's kind of like a little grate in the brickwork, at the height between the floors. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Rangehoods (ducted to exterior) 47Feb 11, 2009 7:58 am We had our meeting to decide on all kitchen/bathroom etc yesterday and we are going to be charged an extra $1060 to install our freestanding stove and vent it outside !
One charge of $142 is because it is a Gas/Electric split, does anyone know if this is a "normal" charge? Re: 48Jun 29, 2009 11:33 pm haywgl, where or how did you find out that it is illegal to duct into the roofspace here in Victoria? I would like to make sure because I'm going in for tender with PD next week. Also, does anyone know if single story homes can vent to an external wall and not through the roof?[/quote] Hi I'm also building w/ PD (single storey) Just wondering how did you go with your tender re venting to external wall/ roof? How much were you charged by them ? I'm also not sure whether it's best to vent to external wall/ roof Cheers Re: Rangehoods (ducted to exterior) 49Jun 30, 2009 9:00 am We didn't end up paying anything to have the rangehood ducted to the exterior, I just told my SS that we wanted it done as I heard it isn't a good idea to duct it to the roof space in a double story. Lucky for me he agreed and organised for it to be done. My karma ran over your dogma Hi all, sorting out the ducted air con for a 350sqm double story house.
