Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Sep 27, 2008 3:38 pm I was wondering if anyone could help. I need to finalise my kitchen cupboard and internal wall colour by Monday. I would like them to be the same white.
An interior designer has recommended 'whisper white', but we have grey tiles with a very slight brown hue, feltex 'molteni' cut plush pile in nouget, our benchtops are white/grey marble and vanities/ entertainment unit are wenge timber veneer. (pics of marble and wenge below, need to get some of tile and carpet) I am starting to think that whisper white may be too yellow. I don't want anything too stark as the house receives alot of sun and has high ceilings. Any suggestions, comments, experiences? Thanks The wife Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: confused about which white 2Sep 27, 2008 4:27 pm Hi!
I'm not sure how much help this will be, as we are still finalising our house plans, including kitchen design etc. But it seems like we will be having a similar colour scheme to you. Our island cabinetry, entertainment units etc will be in 'Wenge' and our benchtop will be a combination of stainless steel and a white-ish marble/quartz (i really like the look of your marble!!). Also, our floor tiles will be a greyish cement sort of colour... The one thing we have been undecided about is the colour of the kitchen cupboards!! The kitchen design we came up with was actually 'borrowed' from a Poliform kitchen design, which basically has all those features...in their case they have used a sort of 'off white' - apparently is is called "Corda Glossy"...but it looks pretty nice! So if you're not 100% set on plain white..something along those lines might work? about to repaint the entire interior of my house and would like adice on the general 'warmth' of Dulux Natural White vs Taubman Big White (or any other suggestions) planning to do the walls, ceiling and wood trim in the same colour. the carpet will be reasonably dark grey/brown wool plush. there's some Sydney Blue Gum timber on the floors in various places. I'd like a white that's not too warm, nor too stark. Have tried the sample pots of the 2 colours and natural white seems a bit pinky! Or could it be picking up the existing wall/carpet colours which are both a bit warm/pinky... cheers Satz Re: confused about which white 6Nov 09, 2008 11:36 am What about White Smoke from Taubmans?
