Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Dec 19, 2019 10:43 am Hi, I'm choosing a white paint for a new home with lots of windows and natural light. Blackbutt floors, bedrooms grey carpet, bathrooms concrete colour tiles. I would like a cool white (dislike creams) and don't want the timber floors looking too warm pink or yellow. The underneath of our alfresco is already lexicon half. So I'm debating lexicon half or quarter for the walls, I hope all the sunlight will wash out the blue but I'm not too sure. I think I will do half on the walls and quarter on the trim and ceiling because if I do go quarter on the walls what do I do on the trim and ceiling? Also worried that if I do the quarter on the walls instead it might be too stark in the sun and not be strong enough to handle the floor tones. Advice appreciated, thank you. Re: Which white paint? 2Dec 21, 2019 8:05 am The ceiling should be the lighter white, the walls the darker white but chances are you won't be able to tell any difference between them. The trim will be a different paint so will look like a different colour anyhow. You could just choose one colour white and the different paints , for example, ceiling flat, low sheen for your walls, trim in Gloss. will all show slight different colours anyway. Just wondering if anyone has suggestions of a white/neutral paint for the walls. I am worried a white will make the kitchen cabinetry look grey... ?
