Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Sep 15, 2008 3:08 pm Hi guys,
I hope people can give me a lot of advises here. Any help would be appreciated!! We arrived 5 months to Perth from The Netherlands and we just bought the house we were renting. We are painting all the walls now. Container with all our stuff arrived yesterday in Fremantle. We have been living in "camping mode" all this time. We just have a TV, computer, bed, 2 bean bags, washing machine, fridge and a couple of pans and boards and our dog. I have been reading what people say/like about feature walls. We were thinking about a suede feature wall from Dulux but Michelle thinks that is out dated. So we are not going to do it. So my question is ... what else can you do like a feature wall? just paint it in a different color? Most of the walls are painted in a very very light yellow, if you dont compare it with the white from the ceiling you could think it is just a white color. For a feature wall we were thinking in Carmen Miranda R from Dulux. That wall is going to be the one you see with yellow spots on the picture. In that area is coming the dinning set. White glass table and red chairs. We have very big doubts about the kitchen, we are thinking to paint the doors of the kitchen also in Carmen Miranda R. We are not sure if that it is "too much red" if you know what I mean or we just should look for other color for the kitchen, we would like modern and strong colors for the kitchen. We are planning to buy a splashback for the kitchen. Don't know the color yet either. We would like to have our house ready because we will get(hopefully) our stuff from the container on 3 weeks from now. Thanks in advance Angela. I am not sure about Play school. It is a nice color but it doesn't with the furniture.
Well we just changed our mind, we are going for True Blue for the feature wall and for the kitchen's doors we dont have ANY IDEA yet The bench top is Beige. My husband isn't and he keeps wanting to paint our walls orange ... he would embrace any culture that cooks speculaas and oliebollen!
Hope I haven't put you off the True Blue feature wall now... Re: Help with interior colors! 10Sep 15, 2008 6:22 pm No problem! I knew you had something dutch!
well we don't know what to do! I found this website http://www.colorcombos.com I like color combo 37 http://www.colorcombos.com/color-scheme-38.html color combo 49 http://www.colorcombos.com/color-scheme-51.html color combo 75 http://www.colorcombos.com/color-scheme-78.html my favourite is 75 but my partner doesn't agree I like also 37 because the blue feature wall but he still wants a red kitchen and I don't think it will fit I am "half" dutch, I am ecuadorian also and that will be also patriotic, yellow, blue and red are the colors of the ecuadorian flag!!! Re: Help with interior colors! 11Sep 15, 2008 6:33 pm I quite like 37 and 75 Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Help with interior colors! 12Sep 15, 2008 6:41 pm Hmmm... yes, I like 75 ... the colour on the left is like Wattyl's Turkish Bread (full strength) and the one on the right is similar to Murano...
Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This is half-strength Turkish Bread and Murano looking slightly redder than it actually is (dries with slight purplish tinge). Re: Help with interior colors! 13Sep 15, 2008 6:51 pm Thanks for your support/ideas Michelle and Lynn!
