All your colours are very complementary. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Our colour scheme - What do you think?? 7Sep 08, 2008 7:00 pm 'Phew!' Glad you like them
The Ceasarstone in kitchen is 'Ice Snow'. The wall paint is Taubmans Shell Stone. I think it is a fairly new colour from the Urban Stone range. We are having full strength for the walls and 1/4 strength for the trims, doors etc. Michelle, I kept going back to that stripe tile.. Hubby wasnt fussed on it at first, but it grew on him. I love it! ( and it was in the builder's range .. Hubby says its a 'racing stripe' for the bathroom I am unable to show colours of the carpet.. Carpet guy laughed at me when I asked for a sample but we are having a light toffee colour. All of my colours are very safe colours.. I would have loved to have been abit more daring, but as this is our first build, I wasnt brave enough.. -Sha Re: Our colour scheme - What do you think?? 8Sep 08, 2008 7:08 pm sha Michelle, I kept going back to that stripe tile.. Carpet guy laughed at me when I asked for a sample but we are having a light toffee colour. He laughed at you ….he would be in hysterics if he was dealing with me! Get your sample, and laugh back at him Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Our colour scheme - What do you think?? 10Sep 09, 2008 9:27 am Yep
It was originally the laundry. Our laundry was originally a workshop on the garage. We don't need a workshop as hubby will have a 'man size' shed (as he says) lol, and I definately need a WIP. We have got 5 rows of shelving going in there at the moment. Will look into other options once I get a feel for the place ( know what i mean?) -Sha Re: Our colour scheme - What do you think?? 11Sep 20, 2008 2:02 pm Couldn't help myself!! .. we went and changed the kitchen and ensuite colours.. it just didnt feel right with the chocolate brown floor etc, in the ensuite as I was worried it would date too quickly.. also we felt it would limit us for colour schemes in our bedroom. We went with a more neutral scheme now, that we can add vases, candles, towels, bath mats in burgundys, browns, greens.. any colour now.
The kitchen was also changed.. We are not very 'modern' people , so our colour scheme probably wont appeal to alot of people. check it out and let me know what you think... I have also added a picture of our drawn up plan from the contract, and a pic of the elevation.. Can anyone see anything that we might have trouble with later?? -Sha Ps changes are on our blog.. address below. Re: Our colour scheme - What do you think?? 13Sep 20, 2008 2:19 pm I think your selection are nice…..classic and as you have said shouldn’t date too fast!
There is nothing wrong with stepping away from everyone else is doing. By the way, I have a very similar feature tile in my bathroom. I chose it because I thought it would be pretty much timeless, as there is no colour and pattern to it. Nice job. I think it will look fabulous on so much land. I'm very envious. Terrific plan too. Re: Our colour scheme - What do you think?? 15Sep 21, 2008 10:58 pm Love ur plan esp the WIP and the colour selection - like ur ensuite colour a lot
Envy u for so much land.... Good luck beegee Re: Our colour scheme - What do you think?? 16Sep 21, 2008 11:04 pm Hi Sha,
Your new selections are lovely - I like them better the kitchen hasn't changed too much but I think the more neutral splashback will be timeless. Well done from another person who likes to change Re: Our colour scheme - What do you think?? 17Sep 22, 2008 8:21 am Great choices Sha! I am doing neutral tones too...we can always add colours in accesseries etc. I originally had a dark floor for the ensuite but changed in back to light for the same reasons!
P.S Your blog looks great! Love all the pics Kylie handover happened 15/6/09...love living on an acre but still so much to do! Re: Our colour scheme - What do you think?? 18Sep 22, 2008 8:59 am hi there,
i actually like ur new colour selection better they are a lot more fresh and bright looking... love your house plan! so jealous of ur WIR! and a spa in ur ensuite!! Re: Our colour scheme - What do you think?? 19Sep 22, 2008 9:16 pm Thanks, we actually changed the main bathroom yesterday to reflect the ensuite. All colours are staying the same as in the pics, except the feature tile is now stone , same as the ensuite only a darker colour.. more beige/brown... no more racing stripe in the bathroom!! lol
I will post a pic in next day or so. We also changed the kitchen splashback from small 100 x 300 to 200 x 300 tiles.. wont look so busy.. still having the gumnuts tiles as features.. Contracts signed tonight over a glass of red and a beer for hubby -Sha Re: Our colour scheme - What do you think?? 20Sep 22, 2008 9:19 pm PS ..
Unfortunately we arent having a spa in the ensuite.. I know its on the drawing, but we havent asked for it.. or paid for it.. Hmm maybe they will put it in by mistake hahahaha (doubt it!) We did think about putting one in, but since we will only have tank water, we decided that an outdoor spa would be better.. you only need to fill it once and then top it up as needed.. not empty it every time.. -Sha I'm renovating - building a small extension at the back of the late Edwardian house. This is the first stage. Second stage of the renovation will be to replace roof on… 0 632 No. It's not original.
