I seem all over the place and are worried it will look like that( all over the place) Grey verse brown Have had colours picked for months on our dream home( That was untill the house next door started ) Our plans are currently being drawn up so have no pic's It is a wide home on small acerage in small estate. The house next door - roof went up Dune roof, gutters and facier and Garage Door The render just done it is a light dune with darker brown trims. I was like watching my house get built next door. So I am starting over Roof: Surfmist ( We like light colours and the rest of the street is dark and grey) Gutter and Facier: Surfmist ( I like them the same as the roof) Garage Door :Surf MIst Hubby does like the timber look(I think they will look dated after a few years) Front Door: Double Timber and glass with with side lights Window frames: Silver/ Grey Render: Heres the big question do I go white seems very in at the moment but I am worried about dust and dirt we only have tanks so cleaning will be hard. Question 2 Can you have grey windows with brown trims ( Pillars) The pillars are at the front door and near the garage door. I do like brown Interior to date I have chosen Main house Floors: kempas timber (redish brwons) tiles for the ensuite are realy different but I love them they go beatifully with brown stone benches But on the other hand I realy like greys in the Kitchen So as you can see I am all over the place and are worried it will look like that( all over the place) Help Please Re: Should the Outside macth the inside 2Sep 07, 2008 8:58 pm I have only just found this post I’m so sorry!!
I will try and get to your question in the next couple of days. My suggestion would be to do a light grey for your render. White is very stark. It really depends on the style of home you are building also. If you are on tank water I’m guessing there are lots of trees around you….maybe? White will stand out; I think it’s nice to blend with your surroundings. Is the render on the whole of your house, or just parts of it? In all honesty to give you a professional response I would need to see your elevation, but since you don’t have one yet. How about you concentrate on your internals for now and post your elevations when they get drawn up. So do you think if I go grey/white outside I could have browns on the in side or sould you follow the greys inside? Main Floor timber - kempas- there is alot aprox 115m2 the kitchen will be white cupboards with essa stone- basmati or cessa icesnow inkeeping with the grey But batroom and ensuite I was looking at essa stone sable luxe which is brown or should i forget this Re: Should the Outside macth the inside 6Sep 10, 2008 7:13 pm Grey is a very neutral colour, there’s no reason why you can’t combine the colours like you have.
Your home would be fairly colourless if you did just grey and white inside.
