This is a quick mock up of our facade, I did it in paint so its not great quality, but its not too bad at showing what we are going for: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We have chosen Selkirk bricks, blue rain for the main house and 50mm tawney heratige for the portico....and we are having anodised aluminium (silver) awning windows. We are having monier georgian in manhattan moon (or boral equivalent depending on quotes!) Now, what colour for the front door, garage & facia/gutters? I like Dune for the garage, and we were thinking a marone or other shade of dark red for the front door - ?? Re: Facade help - colours?? 6Sep 02, 2008 9:43 pm What I have found in the past is that not all colours are available with garage doors.
Is this a door you are going to paint or are you buying a standard colour in their range? If so, you need to find out what’s available in the range of colours. This looks pretty good! Also with the dark colours on your home I think I would go with the cream or off white mortar. Re: Facade help - colours?? 13Sep 06, 2008 10:34 pm Sorry to do this, but I actually prefer the surfmist over the dune. The surfmist brightens the whole facade, whereas the dune tends to blend in a bit with the roof (depends what effect you're after). I'd also remove the line of bricks on the portico. And I'll join the "love the door" brigade.

I think it has something to do with my ******* paint work - I wish I was good at photoshop or myvirtual home or something!! Nevermind, thanks all for your very helpful opinions!

Would it be possible to render the section where the 3 windows are and paint it the same colour as your garage door. DH gets his mix of bricks and you get a balance to your garage door possibly. Or I like the idea of render on the pillars and losing the 2 types of brick colours. Its a personal choice though. Can you pick the render fan......Thats me! Re: Facade help - colours?? 16Sep 07, 2008 6:34 am I like the Surfmist too, but prefer the Dune. Seeing a bigger pic of your tiles, I think the Dune won't blend in with them so much - they look like they might be darker in real life than in your mock-ups.
I actually don't mind the Paperbark either! I’m going with the Surf Mist as well…… Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com I'd get the gutters to match your roof and pipes to match the paint - otherwise they become a feature.
