Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Aug 27, 2008 4:30 pm Hi All!
I am looking for a nice feature colour for our fireplace "box" The wall is around the fireplace only. ie doesnt go up to the cornice, its more of a mantle style made out of gyprock with a caesar stone mantle (osprey). Our walls are 1/2 strnegth buff it. Leather lounge is white. Our ottoman/coffee table is chocolate and teal floral/swirl. Soooooo.... I was thinking a chocolate colour would be nice for this "box". So Michelle, do you have a colour that is chocolate in the saem family of buff it? TIA!! Re: Colour for fireplace wall 2Aug 27, 2008 6:38 pm Michelle will no of more options but there is a Dulux colour called Toffee Fingers that might work with those colours you are describing. Its not a strong chocolate colour but it might be what you are after. I’ll have a look over the weekend for you. Re: Colour for fireplace wall 5Aug 29, 2008 4:54 pm Amber…..in the same family as “Buff It” would be “Sea Elephant”.
But not really a strong chocolate, but if you won’t your colours to flow really nicely this colour will do it. Try some sample pots first. I do not know anything so warning have you thought about a teal colour surround. You mentioned that your ottoman had a teal colour in it and I have seen the teal, chocolate and white colours work well together. The teal colour is in the picture. We have a large N/W facing window and are wanting to have a wood slow… 0 13724 No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 11584 I would probably render it and then paint it as per your other advice, or gyrpock over the top. 1 3336 |
