Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Aug 15, 2008 1:44 pm Hi Michelle, sorry to bother you again but I am agonising over my kitchen colours-keep changing my mind all then time. I initially was going to go for antique white kitchen-posted a thread in anither section but now am contemplating a new scheme-I guess I am not too huge a fan of the white kitchen -I don't like plain white doors, that's why I thought of going for a shaker style door. New colour scheme
cupboards- Parburys Bavarian beech benchtop-Galaxy black granite splashback-white or off white tile The kitchen in our current house is like this and I find the black benchtop much more serviceable than white. I really like my current kitchen but worry that others will think it dated? Is this an dated look? I think our current kitchen looks quite warm and cosy. Will it go with a warm colour scheme thru the rest of the house. I am planning to have Kempas flooring . Help!!! Re: Kitchen headache 2Aug 15, 2008 1:51 pm sorry I'm no help......my future kitchen is constantly on my mind.....while I love the combination together I think it's going to look awful with everything else! I wouldn't worry too much about what others think - this is your kitchen - it's you that has to live with & cook in it on a daily basis so you need to be happy with it ! You'll never have everybody thinking it's great - but you need to go with what will make you happy - besides, it'd be boring if we were all the same! You stress too much - it's going to look great , and you'll be thrilled with it!!! Plus, it's too late to change, and there's nothing you can do about things you can't change. Just wait, I'm sure it will all come together beautifully! Thanks Bec -I too think that look is nice. I know, I know I'm so indecisive-don't know why I can't make up my mind once and for all!! I think it's because I see some thing else and think that's nice. I think though the bottom line is the black granite workbench-much more user friendly than caeserstone. I got some samples of stone from the company and did a stain test with turmeric and curry powder as I do a lot of Asian and Indian cooking and the turmeric leaves a yellow stain! So I think a dark surface is the way to go. Re: Kitchen headache 7Aug 16, 2008 9:08 am Dated?????
Now what’s that? You can put something in your home and 2 minutes later it has dated! I agree with the rest….if you like it, have it. If walking into a room and seeing your selections makes you feel GOOD, that’s what it’s all about. If someone else walks into your room and doesn’t feel good………who cares! Have fun, enjoy your new kitchen, after it all it won’t look exactly the same; it will be a different shape possibly.
