Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 14, 2016 3:56 pm Hi Everyone I bought an Eden Brae home that apparently got painted with Taubmans endure which apparently you can wipe off spilt stains etc with a clean wet cloth. I would like to hear others opinions on this as everytime I waipe a stain I wish I hadn't sure the stain comes off but you a left with the biggest massiveness whitish wipe mark that looks 1000% worse than what leaving the actual stain alone would do. I have wiped a few spots but I give up sone has just put chocolate on the wall I'm leaving it as wiping it off will just look worse. I remember having dulux wash and wear in my family home when I was growing up 15 or so years ago never had a problem with it. Is Taubamans endure just inferior? I'm thinking about complaining false advertising either that or our painter just used brand x which wouldn't surprise me either. Re: Taubmans ENDURE IS NOT WASH AND WEAR 2Oct 14, 2016 10:06 pm I have taubmans endure also and it's so disgustingly dirty and grimy as there is no way it wipes clean. I hate it! Re: Taubmans ENDURE IS NOT WASH AND WEAR 3Oct 15, 2016 6:05 am My hubby is a Painter and he uses dulux. He prefers dulux to Taubman's. I wouldn't say Taubman's is inferior. But to be able to wipe off easily there needs to be a few layers of paint, preferably three to build up the product and it's properties. Re: Taubmans ENDURE IS NOT WASH AND WEAR 4Oct 15, 2016 2:50 pm Im glad I'm not the only one I'm considering complaining to taubmans I def. wouldn't be the first. the builder sells it as upmarket paint and the name suggesst it endures stains etc and you can wipe clean so why would a builde ronly give you 2 coats of the stuff if it needs 3. Would he therefore say that 2 layers of paint topcoat for dulux wash and wear would wipe off better than taubman's endure?? Or would you say that both need 3 layers so perhaps the 2 layers taubmans thing does not do it justice? I only ask as we plan to sealer our new build too and put two coats of paint, just can't decide between bubnnings: British paints vs dulux vs taubmans. Thinking of getting a few cans of paint via the discount paint store due to damaged cans being cheaper (but contents the same) and they have more of the dulux wash and wear. so curious to hear about the brands diference. We would always recommend dulux over Taubman's and British paints. Two coats will be sufficient but three coats will be better as your building up the microns of product that make it easy to wipe clean. I would recommend doing two coats in bedrooms laundry etc and three coats on hallways and walls that are liking to be touched frequently. Re: Taubmans ENDURE IS NOT WASH AND WEAR 8Dec 11, 2016 10:55 am Ha they probably use superior paint in the display homes just like all the upgrades its the roping in and reeling affect I can tell you now our paintjob is no good compared to the display homes they probably hire the worlds best painter for display homes. I think I could have painted our house blind drunk on a big Friday night at midnight better than our painters. The site supervisor( or so he calls himself ) told me I got an aussie painter and to be thankful it wasn't an Asian his words not mine. The aussie painter sucked anyway should be ashamed of himself.
