I need some help!!! Something is not right on this house! Do I have too many colours? Is the timber door sticking out too much? Are the window sizes ok? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I think it will the front door will be on of those oversized ones. If we just do a normal door then I could do it white which I think looks better with the other colours but I also love the oversized timber doors. I deleted the balcony (to save $$) so I put one big window instead of window and balcony door, but I don't know if it looks balanced? I like pale beachy looking houses, white and bone coloured houses appeal to me most. I think the Paperbark render might be a bit dark for me lol. We won't be getting the render done until after handover so it might be all brick for a while while (money might be tight!). Bricks: Austral One Silver/NougatRender Porch Pilon: Stacked Stone (fake cladding stuff) Porch roof: White? Render: Need help, I have put paperbark, but could go lighter/bonier? Roof Tiles: Dune or similar? Windows: Dune or similar? Front Door: Timber 1200 wide (MVH does not have one). Gutter, Fascia: White? Downpipe: I don't know! Garage door: Thin panels, white Driveway and Path: exposed aggregate sandy colours Bricks (they're a bit paler and less pink than this pic): Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Stone cladding: Driveway: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Alrighty then Michelle... my External colours :-) 2Aug 05, 2008 7:17 pm What I see from the render you have provided –
1)Front door is the only timber on the whole house, could look out of place if it’s not balanced somewhere else. 2)Why not do the render in the dune? It will look great with your bricks Here are my suggestions – Bricks: Austral One Silver/Nougat Render Porch Pilon: Stacked Stone (fake cladding stuff) Porch roof: White Render: Dune Roof Tiles: Dune or similar Windows: Dune Front Door: Timber 1200 wide (MVH does not have one). Or Jasper Gutter, Fascia: White Downpipe: Same as wall colour, Dune Garage door: Thin panels, white Driveway and Path: exposed aggregate sandy colours Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Alrighty then Michelle... my External colours :-) 3Aug 05, 2008 9:48 pm Thanks Michelle!
Yeah I was worried about the timber door. The stick holding the porch roof up would also be in matching timber, but I don't really think it's enough. I tried the Dune and it's really too grey for my taste, I'm going for a really white/cream look. I'll definitely go with all your other selections though. Do you think that I have too many colours if I have the render in a different colour, like a cream or bone? These are my two favorite houses. I know my facade is nothing like these, but I just love the use of whites and creams. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Thank you! Hi Rachelle, I love the 1st one. It has a bit of interest in the front door & balanced by the dark render to the side. Also the facade isn't as busy as the 2nd one ie fewer architectural features which give it cleaner lines & therefore won't date the house dramatically ( as all houses do eventually ). IMO only Also : having 2 single garages with a column right in front is a pain, no matter what the designers might think ! As we have already discussed we have such similar tastes I think any of these colours will tie in nicely I love the driveway colours too - we want something similar My karma ran over your dogma Re: Alrighty then Michelle... my External colours :-) 10Aug 07, 2008 8:04 pm Colours to look for Dulux -

Thanks Donuts - I'm really out of budget so the facade needs to be the cheapest possible for the build and then we're doing the rendering and stone cladding ourselves, I'm hoping that with pretty colours I can make it look nice even though it's plain. Thanks Bel - we do don't we!! I was going to have the timber cladding on top but the new builder doesn't do it! Then I was going to have a portico style roof but after playing with your facade I decided I really liked the brick column with the timber post ( TDL) Thanks Michelle, I'll check those out. I have been trying to find them on the web, is there a way? Or shoudl I just go and get some samples? Re: Alrighty then Michelle... my External colours :-) 12Aug 08, 2008 8:39 am Rachelle go to www.dulux.com.au and click on specifier and then colour atlas, you just type in the name and the sample colour just comes up My karma ran over your dogma Can someone please offer some advice?
