Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jul 26, 2008 9:44 pm We have decided to paint our new house Hogs Bristle 1/4 strength. I was wondering which would be a complementary colour to use for the internal doors, architraves etc - would prefer a different/lighter colour rather than using the Hog Bristle for everything.
Thanks Nicole Re: Colour to complement Dulux Hog Bristle 2Jul 26, 2008 9:59 pm Hi Nicole,
It’s a bit hard to find a colour lighter than ¼ strength Hogs Bristle. That’s pretty light. But I’ll have a look for you. Doors are going to be antique white also....i think. I love it, and it looks great! Great advice Michelle. Re: Colour to complement Dulux Hog Bristle 10Jul 28, 2008 12:21 pm natava1 Thanks also for your reply Minx - good to know someone else has also used this colour scheme. Do you happen to have any pictures of your paintwork? I will take photos some time this week. I have been so lazy to get down there, and i'm also flat out with my research project at uni. Re: Colour to complement Dulux Hog Bristle 11Apr 14, 2009 1:17 pm Would love to see what Hogs Bristle 1/4 strength looks like on the walls. Any pics? Re: 12Apr 14, 2009 3:12 pm bec isnt there a dulux antique white and a dulux antique white usa just to confuse matters Hey Bec, I am pretty sure its just a change of name....It used to be Antique White and they just added the usa on the end. I am also 99% sure its the same colour. Michelle might be able to clarify this if you need. Re: Colour to complement Dulux Hog Bristle 13Apr 14, 2009 7:01 pm Yes……I think it’s just a name change as well. I think Antique White is not around, it’s now just Antique White USA. Not sure really. But just to confuse everyone, now there’s Chalk USA….. My trims are going to be Antique White USA and I cant decide between Hogs breath 1/4 or Bone White for the walls...any thoughts Michelle? Re: Colour to complement Dulux Hog Bristle 15Apr 15, 2009 8:43 pm Just bumping to see if Minx can supply a pic of that colour scheme. Re: Colour to complement Dulux Hog Bristle 17Apr 15, 2009 11:37 pm That is really helpful Kiwi, gives a good idea of the contrast between the two, thanks heaps for that. Go to an actual paint store, not bunnings. Dulux even have trade centers. Don't have to be a trade to but their paint. 1 14070 Hi Alex, Thanks for the reply again. I had a chat with the builder, he said he will use primer, then hydrotec which comes with colour and sealer as well. A Renderer I… 12 14420 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 3622 |
