Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge Re: Photoshop please?!?! 41Jul 27, 2008 12:37 pm Fascia is the piece that the gutters attach to. The gutters sort of sit on the fascia. Do you want this to be the same as the gutters or have a contrast?
Most people tend to have them the same but i like a contrast. We're having paperbark fascia and black guttering, downpipes and windows. We can get away with the black downpipes as the windows are dark, but with your white windows I agree I'd blend with the bricks. So that really gives you Dune for the downpipes. Woodland Grey for gutters. If you like a contrast Dune fascia, if you want it to blend Woodland Grey fascia. As for the eaves, we don't have any but the alfresco roof will be the same as our indoor roof colour and if I had eaves I'd have done them that colour. You could do this as they'd be white and it would pick up your white window frames. Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Porch: Do you think it would be good bagged/rendered in Woodland grey? Raz If you think you can, you can. Re: Photoshop please?!?! 44Jul 27, 2008 2:52 pm So many decisions!!
I had a play while finishing last night's bottle of red! I actually prefer the lighter bricks with your other selections but in general I prefer the darker bricks so I had a little play. Of course I had to use some white How about a stacked stone feature? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Raz, I'll do yours too, unless someone beats me to it. Re: Photoshop please?!?! 45Jul 27, 2008 3:22 pm Thanks guys
I think I like a contrast too Jo Rachelle - thanks that looks great - what colours did you use? I love stacked stone but unfortunatly our budget doesn't I'm' liking the colours you have picked, perhaps with a woodland grey roof, Dune fasia and downpipes. I like the white for under the roof eaves It seems people think a Jasper garage door and jasper render - I'm worried this would be too dark, which is why I am leaning towards Dune garage/front door. Thanks again for all your help guys My karma ran over your dogma Re: Photoshop please?!?! 46Jul 27, 2008 5:56 pm Well I have been thinking of this ALL day and I have decided I want a Dune Roof, I love Dy's and I am worried the green tinge to the woodland grey will throw my whole colour scheme off.
I am then going to do Jasper around the 3 windows, porch roof, pillar and around the garage which will hopefully break up the dune garage roof and dune garage door which are quite close to each. Dune front door x 2 will be Corinthian MAD 101 with translucent glazing. Garage door in the modern contemporary style which is again the same as Dy's Just the straight lines across the front, no squares etc... Window frames are white aliminium I'm leaning towards the darker bricks - I'm going out this week to find them on more houses to see them on a larger scale, hopefully the white mortar will break them up a bit. I think the gutters will also be Dune, downpipes Dune then just need to work on a colour for the fascia and eaves - leaning towards a whiteish shade.... My karma ran over your dogma Re: Photoshop please?!?! 48Jul 27, 2008 7:15 pm In the first one that I did I had Dune roof and gutters etc (I think!), then I did Jasper garage door and study render, with white porch roof and white front door.
I've seen some fabricated stacked stone which we are thinking about using, or else I'm sure you can get stone cladding. In any case if I was you I would get the pillar in the jasper and then you can always go looking for cladding yourself after handover. Here are the latest.. think I got it right. I would do the the study render different to the porch roof, but I think either of these look good. I prefer the dark bricks in themselves, but I think the light is a better contrast. I showed DH and he likes the darker brick one - first one. I liked the lighter bricks - second one. But both of us said we would be happy with the other. All we have to do is go out to look at both bricks again on a larger scale and make up our mind from there - last decision!! Jo My karma ran over your dogma Re: Photoshop please?!?! 50Jul 27, 2008 8:47 pm You know I'm biased about lighter bricks, I love second one. I think it looks great, really fresh and clean.
As for your DH didn't he say the darker brick made everything too brown? He's as bad as you! Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Photoshop please?!?! 51Jul 27, 2008 9:06 pm Jo!!
I like light bricks too!! No DH said in one of the other pics that Judie did it was too brown, I think it was the one with the dark bricks and all the jasper including garage door etc...neither of these are 'too brown' in our opinion, however, I agree with you in that the lighter one looks nicer. My karma ran over your dogma Re: Photoshop please?!?! 52Jul 28, 2008 2:07 am I like this one the best ... some of the earlier pics didn't look a lot like jasper or dune but this one looks the closest. Sorry guys .. I don't even try with photoshop coz I bungle it every time ... not that you bungled it ...... <digging an even deeper hole for herself> . I like both bricks, and definitely add some of the white ... makes it look very fresh and modern. Love it. . Maybe lighter bricks would look better but its a close match.
