Michelle has a post about this somewhere but from memory it goes like this. It's ok to use two different colours as long as they are the same tone, i.e. across the fan deck. For example you might pick a red and a green from dulux, as long as they are both say the third colour down on their colour card, they are the same tone. So when they the fan deck is open they are at the same level, just on different cards. Does that make sense? Oh I hope that's right. Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. This is what Joles is meaning….if you look at the fan deck you will see each leafe/page. All the colours that work well need to sit at the same level on each page. IE – walls that will go well together will be all the colours that sit on each page second row. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ To be honest this isn’t a very good fan deck….. All feature wall colours need to be the same depth of colour….IMO Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: Help with feature wall colours.....please 25Jul 23, 2008 11:46 am Nah Michelle, you don't have to pay me. Happy to spread the word of the forum decorating guru!!
Actually, to tell you the truth, I'm more amazed by the fact I remembered it correctly! Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Help with feature wall colours.....please 26Jul 23, 2008 12:53 pm Thanks guys,
I love that bright artwork Michelle. Wish I could put up something like that but unfortunately the rumpus wall has 3 small windows in it, so I'll have to paint. But now that you have both explained the fan deck to me (thanks also to you Joles), I know that I can't use toffee fingers as it is under sea elephant on the fan deck, so I will go to the paint shop, have a look at a fan deck & pick a colour that is on the top row of the dulux fan deck,(like sea elephant). I think I've got it now. But look out cos I'll pobably be back to have you check the colours..... Thanks again, Pip. Re: 27Apr 18, 2014 3:14 pm joles Hi Pip, I'm also having South Pole throughout but with greys and charcoals. South Pole has a touch of grey so it does tend to be a bit "cooler" than a white paint with a hint of brown. If you have Balinese style furniture what about using reds or reddy/orange? Maybe you could check out some display homes that have used South Pole and see what they've done to add warmth. I'm sure Michelle will be much more help than me. Jo Hi Would you mind posting some photos of your South Pole wall colours in a sunny room and a darker room. I am looking at getting this colour. What are your thoughts? I am after a colour which is a cool whitish / grey colour. Thanks hmmm id assume youll get hit with the "natural product therefore variation in colour etc" excuse. How bad are we talking? One could argue that if none of the displays or… 3 2458 Thank you again Simeon.. I will call my certifier for that. Have a good day 4 5197 Thanks for your reply! All valid points and I agree with you on many of them. I am in QLD, any recommendations on a construction lawyer would be helpful 3 2654 |
