Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 01, 2015 8:58 pm Hi all. As we near our handover date I'd like to get the advice for choosing furnishings for our house.
Things I'd like to know is do people think the styling will go together? I'll post some photos of our interior first. These were taken earlier during inspections so things aren't entirely clean. They colours all go well together we just have to work out a way to get some warmth into the colour scheme Re: Interior design help 7Nov 09, 2015 8:12 pm Have you thought of using the freedom furniture designer service? Re: Interior design help 8Nov 09, 2015 8:14 pm Love the selection! We're going for a similar neutral colour scheme, and adding coloured cushions etc for warmth. Our First Build /viewtopic.php?t=79716 Re: Interior design help 10Nov 09, 2015 8:25 pm Love your colors by the way. I sent you a few contact details I found previously. I think all these interior people are reasonably expensive. Re: Interior design help 12Nov 09, 2015 9:48 pm Crazyk Thanks Presidente The wall colour is called Wattyl Spirit Grey and we went with White trims and door. They colours all go well together we just have to work out a way to get some warmth into the colour scheme This is the exact colour scheme we are going to be doing! How do you find spirit grey? Does it throw any blue? Did you use full strength? I like what I see! Re: Interior design help 14Nov 13, 2015 10:46 am So you are happy with it? Do your walls like blue in some light? I wonder if the strength was halved how different it would be. Gahhhhh I really suck at picking colours out! Re: Interior design help 15Nov 13, 2015 3:43 pm Um yeah I would of liked a bit more grey but my wife loves it. Personal taste really. It's definitely not offensive. Not sure on half strength, I like full strength colours, diluting them doesn't necessarily make the colour lighter. I thought the dining table and chairs would be the easily of the lot but proving to not be the case. Finding something that looks good AND is comfy is a difficult combo it seems... The actual styling will come into it when you start looking at art and soft furnishings, such as rugs, cussions, etc. I would suggest having a look at any art you like and working out if there is a theme in the colours you gravitate to and then work out if you can get a rug that goes etc. Pro tip - you wont get a rug youre happy with from you ususal rug shops. Theyre usually heat set propylene rubbish that is common and overused. Look for natural materials like wool, sisal etc. it will make a huge difference in the feel of your rooms based on you other selections. http://www.nickscali.com.au/rugs.html Nick scali have some nice wool rugs, but thats about as "chain" store as id go.
