LOVE the granite!
I also love the red - although it is the only one on my screen at the moment

Re: The dreaded splashback question 64Aug 26, 2008 10:17 pm No I've only got red as well.
But Dy just added something about the camera being flat so maybe she couldn't transfer. Oh technology! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: The dreaded splashback question 65Aug 26, 2008 10:19 pm Dont stress Dy, i'm sure you're dial up is taking forever to upload...
Believe me, I understand!!! Re: The dreaded splashback question 66Aug 26, 2008 10:24 pm My whole homeone life has been on dialup , have just ordered a NextG modem......now that I'm nearly in the new house
Dy, your benchtop are beautiful! The red looks nice, but I'm thinking the silver sounds good......can't wait to see! Re: The dreaded splashback question 67Aug 26, 2008 10:33 pm OMG I think we've all aged 12 months since I started this . Camera now back but I can literally count the % files uploading on photobucket. More coming. Worse thing is I can't see the quality of the pics till they upload. Oh well ... I'll edit the previous post as the night progresses . Re: The dreaded splashback question 68Aug 26, 2008 10:59 pm Dy you're really going to hate me, but did you take photos of them standing back further so that you can take into account the overhead cupboards as well?
I know the first pic has them to show the gorgeous granite, but i thought i'd ask anyway??? BTW, what colour is your granite again? Black i know, but which one??? Sorry to be a pain in the (you know where!!!) Re: The dreaded splashback question 69Aug 26, 2008 11:53 pm DY what have you got for your kick board colour? Is it silver? this might help tie the silver in if you used it as the splashback colour. I guess it depends on whether or not it looks odd close to the grey/blue of your top cupboards. The red looks stunning. do you want a dark or light effect for the splashback? Re: The dreaded splashback question 70Aug 27, 2008 12:08 am Hi Phoenix
Not sure if I have a pic of the kitchen taken further back.... I'll check the photobucket files tomorrow. If not I'll take another tomorrow. Not sure what the granite colour is ... I'll ask our glass guru ... he bought it in from Vic recently. It's a plain rich black with a very small amount of brown flecks in it. Kexkez - the kicks are all aliminuum. The silver colour looks pretty good with the upper cupboards and with the kicks (which have been taken off to be machined to fit the new floorboards) We either go with black which suits the lower cupboards and benchtops or silver which suits the upper cupboards. Otherwise the red is a complete contrast. DH is favouring black, I'm for red . Every trade we asked today had a different opinion ... most of them were passionate in their choices and we could hearing them arguing afterward about who was right Re: The dreaded splashback question 71Aug 27, 2008 12:11 am I think the black would look great if it's sparkly as it would compliment the cupboards.
I also like the silver. But then I like the red. But in order, silver, black then red! Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: The dreaded splashback question 72Aug 27, 2008 9:39 am Holy Moses Joles!
Not ALL of them . I like them all too, which is why I am having trouble picking. Silver looks a bit cold to me but then I live in black so what do I know . DH is off to the site to negotiate with the builder about our new handover date and assess where the build is up to. He'll take a pic for Phoenix while he is there. Re: The dreaded splashback question 73Aug 27, 2008 9:50 am Dy, not sure why I'm giving my opinion - your taste is exceptional, so I'm sure whatever you choose will look great!!!
I think the black is too similar to the benchtop & will blend in, perhaps taking away from the stunning granite? The silver also doesn't give much contrast to your cupboards....so the red for me! Re: The dreaded splashback question 77Aug 27, 2008 10:41 am I have to say with the colours involved with this kitchen….my votes for the silver. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: The dreaded splashback question 78Aug 27, 2008 10:49 am I like the red but I think the silver looks classy too.
I liked Mrs B's idea way back to have it mirrored...........I think that looks nice too. So many choices............. Re: The dreaded splashback question 79Aug 27, 2008 10:59 am First one looks like a corporate kitchen...sorry
Second looks great....lightens the kitchen and makes the cabinets float a bit (I know what I mean.... ) Third seems a bit heavy handed and doesn't suit the rest of the coloring Disclaimer....I'm a bloke and therefore apparently color blind... mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: The dreaded splashback question 80Aug 27, 2008 11:05 am My first thought before was silver. But I still like the red but the black hasn't come up as well as I thought.
Silver. Remember Dy I made a comment about your home and your taste? Understated class? Silver is that for me. Will fit in perfectly with the rest of your home and your style. Would you also carry the splachback colour to the fireplace? Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself.
