Ive thought about a kids play area in the small nook (listed as dining area). Hi Ari - we aren't sure if it's load bearing, but that was one of the thoughts we had. We do like that there is the separation at the entry, but it makes the shape of the lounge room quite difficult to decorate. What kind of new entry wall would you recommend? My hubby likes the idea of mounting the TV to the back of it. Also mindful that the entry is tiled and the lounge is freshly carpeted so there is already a set division. Re: Desperate advice - furniture layout in odd shaped lounge 7Aug 28, 2015 1:53 pm I'd consider building two walls onto the back of the entry wall, to form a triangular storage cupboard. The TV could then go on the new living wall. To get more wall space, it may even make sense to wall up the opening between the entry and living. Re: Desperate advice - furniture layout in odd shaped lounge 8Aug 28, 2015 2:14 pm I would wall in the entry/Living too, and if I was building a wall I'd knock down that entry wall, make it a straight line and square off the rooms. Straightforward to do, and would eliminate your furnishing issues, while making your 'dining' area much more functional. I love that they will make the space have a more rectangular/ standard shape. Now the fun part, finding builders and getting quotes. Thank you so much, I feel like a weight has been lifted Re: Desperate advice - furniture layout in odd shaped lounge 11Aug 30, 2015 9:01 am bubblynutter I would wall in the entry/Living too, and if I was building a wall I'd knock down that entry wall, make it a straight line and square off the rooms.
