Hope this is in the right section!
Will set the scene - we have extended our 1890 cottage with a modern kitchen living area with jarrah floors and bifold doors onto a deck. It is white and crisp.
We live in the Adelaide hills and really want/need a combustion fire in the large area. In addition I also have a beautiful old safe that is about 1.2m tall by about .7m wide. I am hoping that someone here with far more imagination might be able to give some suggestions how we might be able to integrate the two together into a feature. The space is modern but I think it needs some 'warmth' to make it less clinical and link in to the older part of the house.
The only thing I can think of is to build in the fireplace in 'stackstone' with the safe and some room for fire wood in there. Similar examples would be awesome.
As per usual - thanks in advance!
