We have paid 50% but feel we might need to do a bit of prompting to have her work for the payment I know a lot of hours do go into it but would feel better having the list agreed to before we pay her anything else.. We are going custom I figure there is a list for selections for one of the majors we could use as a template.. Re: Specifications list for interior designer 2May 06, 2015 3:08 pm Funnily enough I was talking to a friend the other day who is about to embark on the same thing ( it's outside my sphere of expertise ) so I just googled and came up with this http://tanyaschoenroth.com/scope-of-work/ Any of those headings there you can either cross them off the list ( if you have already chosen the flooring for instance ) or expand them as necessary. If you searched with " scope of work interior design" in the search bar I'm sure you'd come up with more. What have you paid the 50% up front for on her request? What are you doing to need the designer? If she's good, you won't need a list, she will tell you what you need! Don't underestimate how well we know our clients.... That gives them a chance to go away with everything you need and return with the correct samples. The most frustrating thing was choosing things when there was no samples to look at or they had forgotten about something. If they are also assisting with the exterior, we found that took so long and there are so many options to choose from. A list should really help with the preparation. Sorry I don't have one but I like Stewie ' s. Pen and paper is a wonderful thing, conversation with your designer on what you want will giver her an opportunity to write down what you need. A camera is a good tool also.
