Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 May 01, 2015 2:33 pm Hi, I need help with paint colours please!
I like warm greys but nothing too grey or too beige (if that makes sense)!! I like: Main walls: Ghosting Half Vanilla Quake Half Grey Pebble half Taupe White Half Royal beige half Feature walls: Heifer Warm granite Mud pack Champignon Love this as a feature wall colour and thought Dulux Warm Granite may be a good match? Thoughts? I'm open to other colour suggestions too. I think I'll do ceilings, cornice and trims in Dulux Natural White. Aluminium windows and doors to both sides of house are "dune". Timber windows to front and back facades are haymes "English Tea" on exteriors but thinking of doing Dulix Intergrain charcoal to internal timber windows and doors. I'd like to do the feature walls in study, theatre and master BR. My floorboards are mid brown "Chestnut" and carpet a dark grey/brown but undecided. Will try and upload a pic. My kitchen will be Polytec Classic White Sheen with Osprey Ceaserstone benchtops. I was thinking of doing overheads in Polytec Cafe Oak Ravine (brown woodgrain) to break up the White but unsure? Was also thinking of glass splashback in same colour as walls? Thoughts? Thank you Re: Help with internal colours please 3May 01, 2015 5:42 pm Lizzie7 Love this as a feature wall colour and thought Dulux Warm Granite may be a good match? Thoughts? Wall colour looks good but way too many frames. Your colours look nice. Can't go wrong with neutrals and bit of splash of colour here & there. Yes I agree way too many frames but I love the colour. Would love to know a Dulux equivalent? Re: Help with internal colours please 6May 03, 2015 8:27 am This is pretty close. I am using Natural White for ceilings, internal doors and trims? Would love hear any other suggestions/combinations you can provide re: colour schemes to go with chestnut floors and carpet in above pic, using neutral and greige walls with feature walls in dining/living, theatre, study and master. Carpet will be a soft brown/grey colour. Kitchen is polytec Classic white sheen with osprey stone bench tops. Undecided on splashback? I was thinking either Dulux soft dove on Starfire glass or smoky black mirror splash back. Maybe soft dove might be a good paint choice too?Thoughts? Many thanks again Re: Help with internal colours please 9May 05, 2015 6:19 am This is pretty close. And yes Ghosting for the walls and Missouri Mud for the feature wall. white trims are excellent with these colours. Sorry as this stage I'm working on a landscaping design for a client and don't have a huge amount of time free. Can you post a photo of your kitchen samples, more close up than what is in the above photo. Thanks... I would love your thoughts on which you think would look nice with: Floors: provincial oak "chestnut" floorboards Walls: Ghosting Half Trims & doors: Natural White Feature timber/glass doors, timber windows & staircase(?): Dulux Intergrain Rich Chocolate (all other windows to sides of house are aluminium Dune) Carpet: see pics below. I'm thinking a bone colour with a soft grey through it like below which I think is from carpet call (it was in a Metricon display) - would anyone have suggestions on the name of the carpet or similar. I have to buy through carpet call. Thank so much Lizzie Below: Polytec Classic White Sheen Ceaserstone Osprey Below are same as above but with Polytec Cafe Oak Ravine as an overhead feature cupboard: Below are same again but with Laminex Paperbark Silk as an overhead feature cupboard: Below are pics of a bone coloured carpet (similar to the above but not as nice) with: Walls: Ghosting half trims: Natural white Missouri Mud feature wall Below is same as above but with Mud Pack feature wall: Re: Help with internal colours please 11May 14, 2015 9:11 pm How you going Lizzie, sorry my feet have not hit the ground since my month away. Just my thoughts. Prefer your last 3 wall colours together with the Mud Pack. I think you are right about the timber colour looking at them again, thanks. I've decided to go all white (Polytec Classic White Sheen) for kitchen with Osprey Stone benchtops. I'm also going to run the floorboard up the wall underneath island on seating end of the island bench. Can you please suggest: - a timber stain for my internal wood doors and staircase? I think I have to use Dulux or Haymes. - a Timber look material for my cabinetry (media cabinet and cabinets in study etc.) Something that would complement the floorboards. many thanks again Re: Help with internal colours please 16Jun 07, 2015 12:30 pm Hi Liizie7, Which colours did you end up going with? I'm looking at greys at the moment and trying to decide between Dulux Silkwort and tranquil retreat as the walls for our second living space? Did you come across those at all? It's so hard choosing these things! I can't even settle on the whites to use for ceiling and walls! What stage of your build is your place up to? Thanks. Yeh ideally that would have been good, but have progressed too far now. Hoping some well placed internal walls fixed up into the battens will provide some… 2 5402 Thank you alexp79 and gommeqld for your advice, that's very helpful, thanks 3 7921 3 10199 |
