Should I just paint it white or are there other options I should consider. I'd get something with a tiny bit of colour in it. American Antique White is a very popular colour at the moment as are whites similar to that. We are going with Arctic White for our walls. Another colour I like to match with timber floors is one called Hog's Bristle in a quarter shade. For doors white is a good choice and door frames you can use the same as the wall colour but in a gloss. Arctic White Hog's Bristle (not sure if this is half or quarter shade) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ American Antique White Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Help with Paint advice 5Feb 23, 2015 11:51 am Thanks for the advice so far. Most of the other walls in the house looking at colour samples are close to taubmans crushed ice which has a bit of blue in it. Not sure whether to continue this colour through or whether to mix it up with something different. Re: Help with Paint advice 6Feb 24, 2015 5:59 am YES... now I can see the photos. I'd keep all the walls the same white, unless you're looking to freshen them all up with a new coat of paint. Then you can make them a warmer white if you like. Painting over all that timber will make a huge difference in your home. I like that look. You just paint with watered down white paint. I like the look on furniture as well. Just google white wash walls. Depends on what look you want. Re: Help with Paint advice 8Feb 24, 2015 10:44 am Thanks for the reply Michelle. Do you think the timber panelling would look better matching the same white as the timber railing on the stairs which is the same as the cornices, architraves and skirts or should it be the same white as the walls? Thanks Yes....you need to sand then an undercoat first, then paint the wall colour, leaving your other whites as the feature whites. Your wood seems to have golden tones so I think a soft lilac color would look just perfect! Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7158 Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing. If you just do a 400x200 footing it will fail in time.
