Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 29, 2014 5:15 pm We recently had our interior colour selections for our new home build. We chose Dulux Antique White USA for the walls and Vivid White for all other painted areas. I'm concerned that Antique White USA will be too white, especially since I want a warm white to ensure the house feels homely and welcoming. From my searching it seems that some people say it's "almost white" and others say it's a nice creamy colour and others say it's "pinky". Has anyone used it recently and could tell me what it is like? If anyone has photos they could upload that would be very helpful too. Thanks in advance! Re: Dulux Antique White USA - is it white or cream? 2Nov 29, 2014 7:07 pm Hi, I've used Antique white USA in bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry. It's "ivory" toned. Not a true white OR cream. I love it. It doesn't have a yellow base. Someone else on the forum has also used natural white and would recommend it, as well. In my opinion both are warm "whites". This is part of the wall in my laundry. My tiles were called "rainbow ivory" and they were a bit warmer still. http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/SANY1551_zps3cae5ea6.jpg Re: Dulux Antique White USA - is it white or cream? 3Nov 30, 2014 9:21 pm Treeseachanger Hi, I've used Antique white USA in bedrooms, bathrooms and laundry. It looks very light in your photo - did you use full strength or half? Thanks again! Re: Dulux Antique White USA - is it white or cream? 4Nov 30, 2014 11:17 pm It's full strength. Here's a link to the website showing the comparison of Antique white USA and natural white: http://www.dulux.com.au/colour/australi ... ite-colour Re: Dulux Antique White USA - is it white or cream? 5Dec 01, 2014 8:04 am Dulux Antique White must vary depending on where you buy it from because ours definitely looks cream. Thanks for posting the photos! It does seem to vary from what I can see online. Hopefully our house looks warm and not the whiter version I have seen. Re: Dulux Antique White USA - is it white or cream? 8Dec 01, 2014 10:05 am Hi Liliana and Najam, professional paint shops mix by exact formula so the colour is true. But for any paint, how it looks actually depends upon the amount of light in the room and sometimes also what other colours are in the room that play off against it. My laundry gets maximum light in the afternoon... my bathroom is low light so it looks darker and "creamier" there. I was told by my painter that its an umber based paint: it doesn't fade to yellow, like some white paints do after several years. That is another reason why I picked it. This is my bathroom which is south facing, looks similar to Lilianas colour against the white tiles. http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/b609/WestAussieforeva/130EnsuiteantiquewhiteUSA_zps4b38e310.jpg Najam, buy a sample pot and paint on some white cardboard, A3 size or even larger if possible, that way you can move it around your rooms and look at the colour in different lights and at different times of day. Also when it's overcast, colours look slightly different as well, compared to bright sunshine outside... Go to an actual paint store, not bunnings. Dulux even have trade centers. Don't have to be a trade to but their paint. 1 14070 Hi Alex, Thanks for the reply again. I had a chat with the builder, he said he will use primer, then hydrotec which comes with colour and sealer as well.
