Brushout?

Hi Michelle,

what size is a paint brushout ?
what size is a paint swatch ?

Thanks
I may be off base and I'm relying on a distant memory (uni holiday work with a printer....
) I think brushout cards are a printing term for a higher quality card stock (i.e. thicker board/paper?) and the sizing is about a quarter of an A4 about 3" x 6".

So putting 2+2 together I'm thinking a brushout card wrt paint is a paint sample on high quality card.

To me they are the same thing…..depends what size the company, or yourself does them in!

I get A4’s from Dulux and small ones from Watttyl, but they are called both, either a brush-out or a swatch.
Now in real terms, a swatch should be a smaller part of a larger sample. But that doesn’t seem to happen in the Painting industry.

If you are getting some samples and they are offering you one or the other, ask them what size they came in.
Well, taubmans have both on their online ordering site. But there's no explanation as to what size they are.
WHAT…….You found ONLINE ordering on Taubmans website??????

Last time I looked, they had stopped doing it for decorators!
I sent them a nice email……NOT!

Yes, I used my employer's details to register. We do commercial joinery.

Actually, I fibbed
& stated that the project was commercial
