Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Nov 11, 2014 4:05 pm Hello. Was wondering if anyone can put some light on this! We painted three bedrooms as was recommended antique white usa as it's a off white not to white but not to dark or creamy. Just a nice white. Well to me it looks dark and cream and I am wondering if anyone else has this colors and is it like this picture I have ? https://imageshack.com/i/eymKRF04j https://imageshack.com/i/p4WFOiVIj Re: Dulux Antique White USA - way to dark concerned ! 2Nov 11, 2014 4:40 pm Hi ashy85, Colours don't render well on the computer so it is hard to judge from the photos. I know that many people like Antique White USA. Our designer recommended it as well and told me that it was a neutral white. I didn't agree and found it quite yellow or creamy as you say. I was after a chalky white and didn't find that Antique White USA fitted the bill. What sort of white are you after? The other thing to consider is how much light your rooms get. It is going to look darker in rooms that get little sun. Re: Dulux Antique White USA - way to dark concerned ! 3Nov 11, 2014 7:05 pm Hi Liliana, We are after a white, not something so stark... Our last house was to white and found it to be quite sterile not as homely... Although we love white more then a dark colour. I do like the antique white usa although maybe I should have got it as a half strength ?? I don't like cream, pinks ... On the sample it just looked so different and the sample pot we used on the wall. It was out of whisper white from memory and the antique white usa maybe your right the 3 bedrooms might not have enough light. Re: Dulux Antique White USA - way to dark concerned ! 5Nov 11, 2014 10:12 pm It's creamy in our house too. Saw it on a friend's walls and it looked white, but they have more light. We have bright lights but not a lot of natural light, and that seems to have made a lot of difference. If I were to pick again I thought I'd go with Natural White. Dulux Antique White USA - way to dark concerned ! 6Nov 12, 2014 7:45 am I agree Antique White USA is a bit cream. We have Natural White by Dulux and I love it. As you can see from these photos it does look different depending on the angle of the pic, the light etc. in my boy's room it looks cream at the top of the wall but it doesn't look like that IRL. The trims are Vivid White. It looks like antique white usa but just a whiter less creamier version. It's not to stark is it. Does it have that natural cream tone warm feel still?? Re: Dulux Antique White USA - way to dark concerned ! 10Nov 13, 2014 8:47 pm I have antique white USA inn our bedroom and ensuite and find it looks ivory. Our bedroom gets a lot of light. Not creamy ?? which would mean it casts yellow. It certainly doesn't have yellow undertones. What color is the fluoro? this affects the look. We have both cool and warm LEDS in the house, and I suppose it would look different under the cool than the warm. The warm is in our bedroom. There is evidence of water on the head reveals.
