Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 28, 2014 9:28 pm Can anyone recommend a light grey (warm) but not beige paint for internal walls? Grey pebble seems to be popular on here, and I have considered it, but sometimes it looks a bit beige. Not sure if bleaches is too cold a colour, or vanilla quake and limed white a bit on the purpley side? My kitchen cupboards are laminex chalky teak and laminex pearl grey, essa stone is sorbet (sorry can't seem to download pics of them here). If anyone could show me pics of their own walls, or recommend some, that would be great! Doons Re: Help with grey interior walls please! 2Oct 29, 2014 4:42 am Some random shots in different lights. Regards, Grumbles Re: Help with grey interior walls please! 9Oct 30, 2014 9:10 pm Ours is Haymes Spatial Doesn't throw blue at all, but is a nice warmish grey tone. It's the same colour on the door frames, just in a gloss enamel. We love it!! Re: Help with grey interior walls please! 16Nov 04, 2014 8:00 am Crazyk We chose 3/4 tranquil retreat for our splashback if you have pics I'd be very interested. I don't sorry still in council so a while away yet... how does that work on splash back do they paint the wall then put plain glass over it? Re: Help with grey interior walls please! 17Nov 04, 2014 8:26 am I'm led to believe splashbacks are clear glass (green tinge) or Starfire (pure clear) which has a painted back. I was given the option of choosing any Dulux colour. Sorry for the off topic post. Re: Help with grey interior walls please! 18Nov 04, 2014 9:19 am We have Tranquil Retreat in full strength and if you want a light grey I think 3/4 strength could work well. I'd describe it as neutral, calming but not cold, it doesn't throw beige in any of our rooms, regardless of light conditions. I've found it works with heaps of colours although those with a warm undertone seem to work best. We painted a huge piece of cardboard with a sample pot first and moved it around into different lighting conditions. I'll never paint again without doing that, had to repaint walls in the past after just painting a patch on one wall, only to find it looked completely different on another wall. pennykate your Shale Grey looks great and the tiles are perfect with it!
