We are having a picture window above the kitchen sink (not cooktop). The design we have has the base of the window starting about 45cm up from the bench top. So essentially you will have bench then glass splashback (white) then window. Still haven't decided if we will have cupboards above the window.
All the images I see show the window starting at bench height, like a literal replacement of the splashback. Question for anyone who has a window splashback starting at bench level.
1. Do you wish it was higher so you could actually see out of it better OR are you happy with where it is?
2. Does the window/sill need constant cleaning at bench level
It was suggested to us to have the window a bit higher off the bench so we can actually see out of it. I'm not sure what looks better (bench height or higher). Does the fact you can see out of it when it is a bit higher make it look better or does it look odd to have a window hovering at eyelevel above the sink. The window is about 450mm high and almost 2m long. We have 10ft ceilings so height for cabinetry isn't an issue.
Just want to get a feel for practicality of design for people who have a window splashback.
