So to be fair, not much can beat the last one with the Favs there.
No one will ever match the boys, they were so funny. And who could forget the sisters from hell.
They are funny in their own way.

I really dont like the football guy and his wife. I loved the winning bathroom and the couples batjroom that didnt finish their room last week. Im still trying to remember their names. I wasnt a fan of the bathroom with the stairs, having 2 little kids i think they would fall.. Re: The Block? 25Aug 11, 2014 9:07 am Tin28a I wasnt a fan of the bathroom with the stairs, having 2 little kids i think they would fall.. I agree it would be an issue with kids around. However, I think the target market for these "The Block" units is yuppies and the others who either don't intend to have kids, or who have long passed that point in their lives. I haven't watched last night's episode yet, but I think that stepped bathroom was an interesting idea, and could make a difference come auction time, and it could go either way, i.e. increase the sale price or even hinder the sale price. Re: The Block? 26Aug 11, 2014 10:01 am I thought the stairs could have led to the bath, like a Japanese style bath. And the everyday shower could have been on the normal floor. I'd be nervous walking down the wet stairs after a shower every morning. No handrail either. Also noticed they all had pendant lights in their bathroom. I'm glad I didn't see that before we built. Looks so nice around the bath. Re: The Block? 27Aug 11, 2014 10:08 am I love Dees style. I can't wait to see what she does with the kitchen. The step up shower I didn't like at all. Without a shower screen water would be everywhere. Re: The Block? 29Aug 11, 2014 12:22 pm I think the black bathrooms look very stylish. However I have been told that black tiles and black grout one of the worse selections for a bathroom. I know this also because I have black floor tiles in my ensuite . I had to get the grout colour sealed .and need to dry the floor eith a towel after every time I shower . Other wise I get water marks .but I think that is with any dark riles and grout . Its the calcium. . But sometimes we go for looks rather than practicality Re: The Block? 30Aug 11, 2014 12:37 pm I think the grout staining problem applies no matter what the colour. I have light coloured grout and to me it just looks dirty all the time unless I attack with something like Bam. Would probably help to have it sealed, I think - also apparently epoxy grout is less likely to stain. Re: The Block? 31Aug 11, 2014 1:04 pm I've had white tiles and grout and I wouldn't think dark would be worse. This time we are going to seal our grout after we move in. Watermarks are annoying - I don't worry about it unless it's outside the shower cubicle. Re: The Block? 32Aug 11, 2014 2:40 pm Just looking at those high ceilings to their bathrooms in Melbourne, and was thinking how damn cold they must be in winter, even with the underfloor heating, they'd still be drafty and cold. Clearly Glasshouse is not intended for people with children, as I see this week is a study and a SECOND Guest room. Owner Building at Jimboomba Woods in Logan City Qld. Re: The Block? 33Aug 11, 2014 4:05 pm bpratt Clearly Glasshouse is not intended for people with children, as I see this week is a study and a SECOND Guest room. Same with last season. The show is targeting the inner city penthouse style buyers who have money to burn. Not the mums & dads with 2.5 kids looking for a picket fence. Re: The Block? 35Aug 12, 2014 6:21 am I just managed to see the re run of the bathrooms last night, pretty impressive! Lets remember here, not every house or build will allow the owner to have such high ceilings in a bathroom with all that window area like those bathrooms had. To me, that was the big feature of the bathrooms. All the selections - anyone can do if they are game to step outside their comfort zones.....which we should. Those high ceilings were what gave those bathroom their wow. Beautiful bathrooms, and I liked green towels.... Re: The Block? 39Aug 17, 2014 8:29 pm One thing I've noticed with these Block reno's is that a lot of the electrical cabling is routed horizontally through the walls, when it should only run vertically down the walls and back up again. Apparently some safety rule so that when gyprock is put up, the screws won't go in to the electrical. Maybe it is just a Qld thing, and in Victoria is doesn't matter ? Re: The Block? 40Aug 24, 2014 9:27 pm I loved the master bedroom but I notice they often have a window just facing the void, not outside. I can't imagine not opening the bedroom curtains to 'see the day'. I really liked the copper wall but it might have been blinding during the day like Darren said. 6 11133 Yes it had a house on it. But Melbourne water only wanted something the original size of the existing house. We managed to fit a 45sq house on. 10 33655 4 4444 |
