Okay I am choosing our kitchen & bathroom tiles and would love some opinions. Mish, you have kindly helped with choosing our laminex and I have tried to match up floor and feature tile colours as much as possible but I still have questions ... would love to hear all opinions! Kitchen: Photo not very good quality so apologies in advance. Walls - Antique White USA Cabinetry - glossy white vinyl wrap Benchtop - Laminex Natural Quartz Splashback - 100 x 100mm glass tiles - I am leaning toward the darker colour on the left - what do people think? I would prefer oblong ones but couldn't find them in this colour - do you think this shape is ok? What colour grout should I ask for? Floor will be Tasmanian Oak - not the light colour laminate boards in this photo. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Bathrooms: - both the same except for feature tiles Centre tile is for floors - the sample is polished but we'll be going for matt. Walls - glossy white 300 x 600 tiles Feature tiles - glass mosaics - the large sheet will be feature tiles in family bathroom, the small squares for the ensuite Benchtops - Laminex Polar White Cupboards - Laminex Stipple Cocoa My doubt here is that the Stipple Cocoa looks too similar to the floor tile colour, as if I'm trying to match them up but haven't quite got it right! I am thinking of going for a more mushroom/beige colour, to pick up the softer colours in the feature tiles - any suggestions? There are dark bits in the laminate that will go well with the tile. Grout colour…..not sure what they can use? Go the darkest they have. The shape is fine! Swap the colours around…….stipple on the bench and white doors, that should work! I like the glass feature tile on the top to the left with the floor tiles. I swapped the colours around because I think I really like white benchtops - won't show little specks of soap/toothpaste as much. But then the stipple cocoa is too close to the floor tiles isn't it? That's why I thought maybe a lighter colour might look ok?? Thanks for your kitchen advice too - I'm feeling so much more confident in choosing colours myself after getting your help. It should work…..you will have more white wall tiles than the floor tiles, which will lighten the room up a lot. So the stipple next to the floor will be ok…..donuts….nothing wrong with doing your own thing. Your benchtop is small compared the wall and floor space throughout the room. I have white bench tops and cupboards in my bathroom; I don’t have a problem at all with the white tops, does show up makeup, but very easy to clean off. Just looked up Pearl Grey on the Laminex site - looks pretty grey, does it look beiger in real life?

Re: Bathroom & kitchen tiles - comments please! 8Jun 02, 2008 8:04 pm On my Laminex brochure, Pearl Grey is next to Stipple Seal. It is a real beigy colour with only a hint of grey.
Peruvian Clay has a pink tone to it on the chart. It would look nice. Some others to look at might be Stone Beige and Oyster Linea. My dark tops hide everything except the toothpaste the kids manage to get EVERYWHERE but in the sink. Paula Re: Bathroom & kitchen tiles - comments please! 10Jun 02, 2008 10:37 pm Hi Donuts,
My choices are a bit similar to yours & I think the stipple seal looks stunning with white. We are actually using the Natural Quartz as the vanity top in our bathrooms with the stipple seal cupboards. We also have white wall tiles, but our floor tiles are beige. The stipple seal looks great with your features tiles as well. Okay, so maybe I should put the white tops in the kids' bathroom, so the toothpaste doesn't show, and the dark ones in our bathroom, so the make-up doesn't show! Re: Bathroom & kitchen tiles - comments please! 14Jun 03, 2008 11:15 am Not yet Donuts - tiler is just finishing off tiling. Hoping vanities will be in, in a couple of weeks (cabinetmaker just gone on holidays ) Laundry cupboards are in though (without benchtop though)- I'll upload some pics under my thread in Building New House section.
I have seen Stipple Seal as a benchtop with white cupboards in a bathroom & looked great. I could ask the people of they have any trouble with toothpaste Jo I recently went through a similar renovation and move scenario when updating our family home.
