Keen on Everest Quantum Quartz bench top - but am stuck over kitchen cupboards - whether to have 2 pack poly or laminate - and what colour? Any suggestions as to what is a good match. ( floor will be blackbutt floorboards, and splash backs clear glass , stainless steel appliances) Thanks maureen Re: Cupboard colour to match quantum quartz bench top in kitchen 2May 29, 2008 5:12 pm Sounds a bit like mine!!! I'm having the Ice QQ, though, with white 2-pac cupboards, and ss appliances. Is Everest white? I can't find it in my QQ bochure! White looks nice and clean, and seamless, I think, and 2 pac is supposed to be easy to clean (I hope!!!) 2 pack is very strong……laminate is as well, but a lot cheaper, so the decision must be yours here. I have looked at the Everest Quantum Quartz, I quite like Laminex “Mole Skin” with it. It’s very subtle, and will complement your blackbutt floorboards, and leave the Quartz as the dominate feature to the kitchen. There are lot of ways you can go here, how daring are you? Or are you looking for a times colour selection? Or do you want your holiday home to have the HOLIDAY feel to it, and use a strong colour for the cupboards? With the Everest, you are open to greys, browns and neutral like the Mole Skin……or….white. Which way would you like your holiday home to look, classic and calm, or holidaye colourful? I have now been to Quantum Quartz showroom and Caesarstone in Sydney - it's quite different seeing the large slabs. Confirmed to us that Everest in QQ is not what we like -too many black flecks when seeing a large slab. Have looked at loys of kitchen showrroms and magazines etc. The house is north - looking up the whole length of the beach - with new bifold doors the length of the house on the ist floor. The kitchen, family room etc are all on the 1st floor level of the house. I am not an adventurous person on colours - so thinking light colour cupboards - maybe parchment or similar, Then is it better to have a contrats - say Cashmere/Mink or ginger - in the Caesarstone - ot stick with a white colour such as Ice Snow. As said before - floors are blackbutt - but there will be carpet in the lounge area, er are also still deciding on colours for the deck tiles (there will be stainless steel railings on the deck) The house is going to remain brick (ie not being veneered) . Therefore appreciate ideas re kitchen benchtops and cupboards combinations. Thanks maureen Re: Cupboard colour to match quantum quartz bench top in kitchen 7Jun 11, 2008 5:28 pm I Love the Ice Snow…..everything goes with it! By using this colour you are able to complement with just about any colour cupboard you want!
I quite like the Laminex “Parchment” with the Ice Snow……your timber floors will look stunning with this light combination. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Kitchen bench tops and cupboards 8Jun 21, 2008 5:44 pm Hi all
Thanks for all the suggestions - finally made some decisions - Ceasarstone Mink on kitchen bench tops and half strength Dulux Hog Bristle on poly 2 pack cupboards. Full strength Hog bristle on glass spalsh backs. 2 bathrooms will be Mink vanity tops and laminate Parchement cupboards and 1 bathroom is Ceasarstone Ice Snow and laminate Parchment cupboards. Now I have to decide paint for all the walls and colour for carpet in lounge/bedrooms. Prefer wool carpet - but still want to keep with the beach feel. The kitchen/dining room floors will be blackbutt floorboards - and the kitchen is open plan into the big long lounge, (all north facing and opening onto a long deck.) Hope the rain stops soon as the roof is being replaced in the nex week or so! Any suggestions much appreciated. Thanks Re: Cupboard colour to match quantum quartz bench top in kitchen 9Jun 22, 2008 7:58 pm Maureen….I would look at an off white for your walls, it will complement all your chosen selections, and give you a blank canvas for all your furnishings to be colourful! It will also look great with the blackbutt flooring.
Carpet, something in the lines of a sand colour. There a quite a few sisals out there that will fit the look and colour for you.
