We have decided on Laminex Clamshell for our kitchen cupboards with Quantum Quartz New Diamond White with waterfall edges, with light sandstone stacker stone inside the breakfast bar as a feature. Now, I need a wall colour, maybe 1/2 shade of the Clamshell, with then 1/2 the shade of that colour for the trims. Does anyone know of a colour? And what are your thoughts on the Clamshell colour. Also we are having plantation shutters, and think the white may look stark from inside especially since nothing else but the ceilings will be white!!! Any suggestions there??? Our windows are white birch, so also how they look from the outside will be an issue too! I dont recall ever seeing plantations that are NOT white though arrrghhhh! Also with the Laminex doors in a light colour, is anyone bothered by seeing a slight line where the edging meets the front of the door, I guess its only really noticeable when the door is open??? Sorry about such a long post, just so much going on in my head right now!!!! Thanks in advance! Re: Question about wall colour 2May 22, 2008 9:29 pm Matamber…..the closest I can come to the "Clamshell" in a wall colour is Dulux “Shetland Lace” Half strength…then for the trims “Shetland Lace” Quarter. That was quick!
About my shutter problem, should I maybe just do the trims in white??? Is that what people do when they have white shutters? And I think you mentioned before that white would look Ok from outside with our white birch windows? The shutter guy said most people DONT do white shutters as they are too stark! Though his colour swatches had alot of ALMOST whites! Re: Question about wall colour 5May 22, 2008 9:38 pm Possibly look at a slight off white for the shutters.
I think a white trim will go well with the wall colour. Check out the colour and see what you think first. If you go for a white trim, then do the white shutters, not off white. Yep ….quick, it pays to have all the right samples in my office! Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Thank you again Simeon..
