Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 May 18, 2008 7:38 pm I bought two white shiny ceramic vases today (BTW, from Oz Design Furniture, lots of great Carinna Sherlock pieces!) that I was going to put on my charcoal cupboard. I then discovered they look much better on a low white cupboard but of course, because they are white, they have no impact in terms of colour. Has anybody got any ideas if they could be painted, and with what?
Off topic, I found this great website today where you can design your own accessories, such as cushions, lamps and art: www.lumbi.com.au , and their ready-made things are great too. I've got a few more homewares links somewhere with great stuff, will sort it out and post later. Re: DIY painting of decoration pieces 2May 18, 2008 8:04 pm Hi Mek
I saw a UK home show on tv the other night (60 Minute Makeover??) where the designer put some paint inside a white vase then tipped in upside down and rotated the vase slowly so that the paint rolled down the inside of the glass. She did this three times with three different colours. It looked fabulous - with three complementary colours swirling down the glass. Make sure you let the paint dry between applications. Sorry I can't recall which type of paint they used but I'm sure a craft shop could let you know. Good luck. Re: DIY painting of decoration pieces 3May 18, 2008 8:48 pm Mek, take a look at the Jo Sonja range of hobby paints.
They have paint for glass, ceramics etc. Check out this link to their products: http://www.chromaonline.com/chroma/products/jo_sonja_s/ Maybe there might be something there you may like? Thanks for that!
