Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Feb 08, 2014 8:42 pm Can anyone help? We are painting ourselves. New plaster walls, whole house. We want to do a good job an avoid having to do again anytime soon. Just at bunnings to start purchasing paint etc. The salesperson there told us we need 1 coat sealer binder 1 coat sealer 2 coats of paint Is this correct? I didn't know you needed to put anything on before the sealer? This sealer binder is news to me! And it's not cheap.... I clarified and she def said you needed a binder before the sealer and said that this wasn't the same as the 3-in-1 products you can get. Any advice appreciated! Re: Help with paint prep! 2Feb 09, 2014 8:02 am Go ask at a Paint store....no offence to Bunnings, but get 2 lots of info. If that fails, ring a painter and ask him, also a plasterer will be able to tell you if the first sealer is needed or not. Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 3622 Go to an actual paint store, not bunnings. Dulux even have trade centers. Don't have to be a trade to but their paint. 1 14058 Thank you. That is really helpful. Once we get the place done and passed for OC we can upgrade in the future once we get back on our feet and not paying mortgage and rent. 4 3995 |
