Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Jan 10, 2014 6:31 pm Hi everyone, The time has come to make a decision with window furnishings! For all spare bedrooms, I've decided to go with a sheer white roller blind and have block out curtains in front. I need help with colours This is a picture of the same carpet and paint colour we will have http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x271/gootza/Mobile%20Uploads/1471982_642281269146084_233755574_n.jpg I don't know what colour curtain to have. I could put standard white or the same colour as the carpet, both which I wouldn't mind, but thinking the charcoal might make the bedrooms appear smaller. These are some potential colours: http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x271/gootza/Mobile%20Uploads/Screenshot_2014-01-10-09-30-13.png http://i184.photobucket.com/albums/x271/gootza/Mobile%20Uploads/Screenshot_2014-01-10-09-30-28.png Please help!!! I am in the same boat trying to decide. I don't think dark curtains will make the room look smaller. It has plenty of natural light too. I like the charcoal best and you could get a pattern through it or a different texture. It's hard isn't it when you need to steer clear of brown. Re: help with curtain colour choices please!! 3Feb 04, 2014 9:40 pm Just realised that is not your actual room. Damn small iPhone screen! Your bedrooms will be the same style colour wise as our. I'm only going curtains in the master in charcoal in a nice stiff silk type fabric and blinds in the minor bedrooms. Post up when you decide. Re: help with curtain colour choices please!! 4Feb 05, 2014 5:39 am Hi girls......you need to take a look at the rooms or think about how the room will look when finished. While you are visualising these rooms ask yourself "do you want the curtains to be a feature/another colour in the room or do you want them to just blend in?" This should tell you which tone you will lean to, then all you have to do is decide on the colour in that tone. Remember the darker the fabric the better insulation of the windows in summer. Re: help with curtain colour choices please!! 6Feb 11, 2014 2:37 pm Definitely a surprise! We have decided to go with a biegey-neutral colour. I will show you once they're up. Now, another dilemma, this is our kitchen-meals-family area. Facing East we have bi-folding doors, and facing North we have a sliding door. They keep the heat out in summer and in during winter and provide more insulation than blinds. That is, how are they mounted? Are they ripple fold? Are they ceiling mounted or wall mounted? Where did you get them from? They are mounted on an "s fold" or "ripple fold" track they are wall mounted right under the architrave. I had them made by a lady here in Shepparton. The track is quite expensive, material was very cheap!
