I was referring back to this original thread where you gave suggestions on what plants to put in Michelle butterbing I'm really liking the idea, stunning looking home! But you will have to landscape very carefully! The quote about being careful with landscaping can you elaborate? When landscaping.... you will need to bring in some colour, like deep reds in Cordylins and and possibly white pebbles in fron garden near the dark paint work. You will need to complement the dark with light and colour. Cordylins[/quote] And I said our plan was to put fake lawn and no plants we stuck with our plan despite your fantastic suggestions of adding colour and some nice low maintenance plants. I'm sure it would look amazing but we have no regrets about admiring the plants across the road instead of our own... No watering, no weeding or cutting etc etc Design by Greater Concept - modified version Evolution Court Build by Premiere Homes My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64854 Re: Michelle or anyone else...Help with front elevation colo 51Sep 20, 2014 2:49 pm Butterbing! Your house is amazing, but to my eye unfinished, without the softening of plant life. But maybe I think that just because I love gardens? Plants and gardens also help to keep your house walls cool. But you'll probably say that's why air cons were invented...no weeding I do like your garden view though! Re: Michelle or anyone else...Help with front elevation colo 52Sep 21, 2014 6:41 am butterbing...unfortunately I have this habit of looking at photos and not reading. Yes, just saw your mention of no plants in your last post. Sometimes, with peoples busy life's a garden to maintain is just not on the "free time" list of things to do. Its better to know this before you fill your land with gardens and let them go to ruin. Nothing looks worse than un-kept gardens. Your actually saving a lot money....no plants, food or feeding the lawn. (I sort of envy you, I spend all my free time on my yard in summer, its very tiring and expensive) but I love it Enjoy your new home!! I'm also planning to do landscaping and having trouble planning it. I've got some issues with levelling the garden specially the backyard and one side of the house. I've posted some picture in my blog at http://mydreamhouse4u.blogspot.com.au/ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Any advice on this is really appreciated. Re: Michelle or anyone else...Help with front elevation colo 54Sep 22, 2014 5:49 pm Butterbing, I saw this photo and my jaw just dropped! What a magnificent looking house! Colours and garage door all compliment each other Beautiful! Our Build Thread: The "Extended" Marina by Visionone Homes Our Inspirations: Frank Lloyd Wright | Houzz Michelle or anyone else...Help with front elevation colours 55Sep 23, 2014 9:22 pm Thankyou it's a huge complement especially considering our house is a custom design with the front a mixture of two front elevations we liked mixed together... We took a huge risk and got a tape measure and glue stick and a piece of paper out and started measuring and drawing and cutting up rooms and moving them lol and gave our measurements to our builder and said okay build this.. We ordered the garage door without being able to actually see one about three quarters the way through our build...A tiny sample of the brushed Ali panels was all we saw and decided to take the risk ( which paid off) and the colour scheme was also a last minute change. Once we deleted our standard garage door the decision to go for the custom door involved choosing a whole new colour scheme for the front something that would work with the aluminium doors..it has all come together perfectly It's so hard to get a nice photo though as the sun is always right behind the house and the front is always shaded..May have to try early one morning Design by Greater Concept - modified version Evolution Court Build by Premiere Homes My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64854 A survey must’ve completed by a certified surveyor.
