Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Oct 06, 2013 5:36 pm Hi all, We are at internal colour stage on our house and are trying to figure out our vanity colours. We have selected grey tones for our house and have selected the following bathroom tiles. Grey floor tiles, white wall tiles and feature in niche, or strip in shower in main bathroom. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We need to select a quantum quartz vanity top and a Polytec cupboard. We are trying to stay within the standard priced options, for obvious reasons Since our grey tiles are just grey we are thinking using Polytec cavia Lini Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ And Luna white quantum quartz for the vanity top Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I want a white top, and I am wondering if having a different texture in the vanity top being dotty vs strips would be an issue? There is a plainer white bench top but that will be extra as it is part of the gold range, not sure how much but I don't wish to spend more money. Will find out but want to know if it will be a definite no no to mix the two textures. We have already decided not to upgrade our sinks, to the above mounted sinks so we WIL be having white bowls that sit in the quantum quartz. So many things to work out, any opinions or photos of what we want will be most helpful. Thanks Re: Vanity advice/opinions needed 2Oct 06, 2013 10:54 pm I think that combination will look fine, thinking of doing similar in our bathrooms with similar coloured tiling. I'm also considering an all white vanity though (white counter and white laminex) but not sure if that would work. I hate to say it, but I would definitely go a plainer white top. The mixture of textures wouldn't look terrible but it wont look incredibly sleek and finished well either (often less is more and consistency is key). I suppose it really depends on your taste! : ) Best of luck! Re: Vanity advice/opinions needed 4Oct 09, 2013 9:44 am I tend to agree with previous poster, I would go for a plainer white top. We are doing chocolate bathrooms and breaking it up with an all white vanity & top. I'm going to go for a plain white top (as opposed to something like the Luna White) as our tiles have a lined effect and I'm worried it will look to busy. Re: Vanity advice/opinions needed 5Oct 11, 2013 6:41 am When you are using lots of different greys (tiles, vanity, strips) it's very hard to get them all co-ordinating. It might be just the computer but the tiles look like a warm browny/grey tone and the vanity and strip do not. This is coming from someone has difficulty choosing colours myself so feel free to ignore. me. LOL. Re: Vanity advice/opinions needed 6Oct 11, 2013 6:44 pm Good point travel bug, the tiles look more grey than the photo, but definitely worth me taking the sample to the tile shop to make sure. It would drive me insane if they aren't along the same shade scale. I am getting a quote for plain white bench, may have to take the cost hit, I also think white will look heaps better.
