Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Sep 28, 2013 5:44 pm Hi I was wondering if anyone has used 1/2 strength grand piano and 1/4 strength grand piano and what was your opinion of it. Also please let me know which white did you use with it in the ceiling and skirting. My problem i have had advice but i am still struggling with it. thanks paula Re: HELP WITH COLOR SELECTION 2Sep 28, 2013 6:10 pm I think we used Grand Piano - is that the white one ? Full strength - on the render - outside. Looks awesome. Inside we used antique white USA (?). It looks good too. Re: HELP WITH COLOR SELECTION 3Sep 28, 2013 7:22 pm i am considering using Dulux grand piano for the inside of the home. i am thinking of using natural white - ceiling only reason why using natural white instead of fair bianca is because i used the natural white for my eaves. i have outdoor area and i wanted to blend in with inside of the home. WALLS - 1/2 or 1/4 strength grand piano like contrast but suttle. i don't want to make the rooms look small. SKIRTING & DOORS - 1/2 strength fair bianca (natural white might look too starky especially next to the carpet) this is for holiday home on the canal i just like the feel of warmth. also my carpet upstairs is dark charcoal grey color downstairs we are using champagne color bamboo floor kitchen cabinet is classic white. look forward to the feedback paula Re: HELP WITH COLOR SELECTION 4Sep 28, 2013 7:52 pm Mike do you have a pic of your facade/render? We're thinking of quite a light render colour too but hubby's not convinced. Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65085 Re: HELP WITH COLOR SELECTION 5Sep 28, 2013 10:31 pm Hi Paula, I had recently painted my lounge room and dining room 1/2 strength Hog bristle because I wanted the rooms to have a warm feel . I had gone through the ordeal with painting gyprock boards with all different dulux colours but chose the Hog Bristle as that one looked best out of the six. I was extremely confused as the smaller dining room (which was slightly darker) looked really good - day and night, however the larger lounge room showed a lot of yellow and even peachy tone. A Dulux colour consultant came to my home and she said to go full strength Grand piano in the larger room as it was brighter and 1/2 strength Grand piano in the dining room. My ceilings were painted white, straight from the can no tint and I am painting my skirting and door frames vivid white semi-gloss enamel. I hope to paint within the next few weeks, if you are interested I can let you know how it turned out. Good luck! Re: HELP WITH COLOR SELECTION 6Sep 29, 2013 10:23 am Please let me know what you think of the color. I would be very interested. i have met 2 dulux consultant and got 2 options. Totally different opinions. one was china white and the other grand piano. both very different. i also got suggestion to do downstairs 1/2 strength and bedroom 1/4 in grand piano but i just want to keep it simple and consistent. I have got sample pots and still doesn't make it easy... I do want to finalize my decision this week. I am driving my husband crazy. thank you so much and good luck with your project paula Re: HELP WITH COLOR SELECTION 8Oct 08, 2013 9:39 am EmyN Mike do you have a pic of your facade/render? We're thinking of quite a light render colour too but hubby's not convinced. Sorry Emy - we've been on the road for a while - didn't see this. Will be home next week - is that ok - or too late ? Re: HELP WITH COLOR SELECTION 9Oct 08, 2013 7:39 pm i have decided and finalize the colors. Natural white for ceilings 1/4 strength grand piano 1/2 fair bianca for architraves. i decided 1/4 grand piano because I want to make the area light and spacious. even though there is lots light downstairs but the carpet been dark upstairs I am too worried to use 1/2 strength. i was also worried about shadowing colors. I didn't want to break up section with colors. I prefer to keep it the same. I also thought when i put pictures it will break it up anyway. Its a beach home so I wanted that feeling of plenty of light. But please keep me posted on your colors. I am still few weeks away from painting. good luck with the project Re: HELP WITH COLOR SELECTION 10Oct 21, 2013 8:56 pm Hi Paula, choosing a colour is so difficult that for my piece of mind I purchased sample pots of full strength Dulux Grand Piano as was suggested by the Dulux consultant, Dulux White Duck and Dulux Beige Royal. The Grand piano looked very similar to my Hog bristle I could still see yellow, whereas the White Duck showed at lot of green and the Beige Royal was very grey/beige. I ended up painting both my rooms Dulux Beige Royal and am extremely happy with how it looks both day and at night. The colour is more beige in daylight and grey/beige at night. All I can say is that I am so much happier with the Beige Royal then I was with Hog Bristle. All the best for you when you start painting Hi there, we have classic cream gutters, fascia’s, roller door and undercover carport. We are are going to paint the roof a terracotta orange colour. After some… 0 4595 I would probably definitely consider contrasting out garage door (e.g. light ash would look great) and make downpipes and fascia same colour as your walls, not as your… 1 3574 Suggestions please for acrylic rendering Color to match austral brick urban one pepper.
