Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge 1 Aug 07, 2013 9:18 pm Hi there I'd decided all my colours and then the price came back and now I am back to square one. So. It is a big kitchen with lots of natural light. I will be having Marri timber floors and the theme of the house will be white/grey/charcoal. So I was thinking of the following: Polytec Polar White Sheen cabinetry Quantum Quartz Reflections benchtops Charcoal Grey Metallic Splashback Brushed aluminium kickboards With that in mind, what the hell do I put on the back of the island bench that will tie in with the kitchen. If I put a timberlook laminate or something like that, it isn't anywhere else so it will look odd! I feel that leaving it white will be too plain and my original plan of having it the same colour glass splashback is blooming expensive! Here is the open plan living layout: http://img441.imageshack.us/img441/6341/kitchenzn.jpg Thanks for any advice anyone can offer. I'm a bit desperate!! Re: Kitchen colour help PLEAAASSSEEEEEEE 2Aug 07, 2013 9:49 pm I'm not sure if I can help much, but I would suggest maybe a 2 toned kitchen. So maybe you could keep the island bench the polar white but change the colour of the cabinets along the walls etc. We have gone similar colours in our house and I have posted pics of our kitchen in the kitchen thread, maybe check out some ideas there. There are some seriously awesome kitchens in there. Re: Kitchen colour help PLEAAASSSEEEEEEE 3Aug 07, 2013 9:59 pm My kitchen colours sound similar but I'm leaving island white. If you're having stools a lot will be covered. In our case we have dark furniture and darker floors and dining table is right across from island so didn't need it to be a feature etc Lovely kitchen. Since you have cabinets on separate walls the oven side you could do dark grey. We are using laminex new graphite for all other cabinets just not kitchen Hi - thanks for your reply. Yes I think 'Ill go for whitish with very speckly bits rather than pure white something like this. PS was actually 2008 I built the… 2 8684 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 3622 You never have a fridge against wall as you’ve drawn. The doors can’t open past 90 degrees and it’s difficult and maybe impossible to remove drawers 2 8304 |
