Browse Forums Interior Decorating Lounge Re: My Colours and Wallpaper - Feedback Please?! 9Apr 28, 2008 1:21 pm YSSIM I have finally gotten off my butt and made some decisions about paint colours to add to the house! Seeing as it's pretty bland with just one colour throughout. I even went so far as to getting samples and buying samples pots and painting with them instead of just looking at colour swatches! Anyway, below are some pics of our family room before we moved the furniture in. 1) The first pic shows the family room with the wall recess/alcove where the TV lives. 2) Second pic is the wall adjacent to that. 3) And the third pic is the wallpaper. The paint is Wattyl 'Donkey' and I'm quite happy with the colour. It's a medium brown kind of mushroom/dirt kind of colour. It's also a nice brown in that it picks up some of the colour in our carpet in the other rooms and I was aiming to carry the colours through to have a nicer flow. The wallpapaper, on the other hand is much darker than it shows in the close up sample pic. It's a natural type of textured wallpaper with lighter brown reeds (I think). it will go in the recess/alcove part of the wall Now, my concern is this: Does it look weird/funny that the wallpaper is darker than the paint colour? I had envisioned that the 'Donkey' would be much darker but alas (and thanks to sample pots) I was mistaken. Is the 'Donkey' okay even if it's lighter than the wallpaper or should I pick a darker paint colour so that the wallpaper is lighter? Looks Great!!!! Love it!
